Lady Eagles capture SCAA South Region title

The Oakwood Christian Academy Lady Eagles took a five-game winning streak and a South Region tournament championsh­ip into the Southern Christian Athletic Associatio­n Final Four at Rossville this week.

Due to newspaper deadlines, details of the Final Four were unavailabl­e as of press time.

As expected, the Lady Eagles had no trouble advancing to the region finals after an easy win last Tuesday.

Annika Green had an 18-point, 13-rebound double-double to go with four blocks, three assists and three steals. Kylie Hall and Tori Hall had seven points apiece with Tori Hall adding seven rebounds.

Maddie Lewis had six points and five boards. Madi Phillips collected five points and seven steals, while Ashley Keith (4) and Mary Catherine Ownby (3) rounded out the scoring.

The Lady Eagles, winners of the Southern Christian Athletic Associatio­n regular season South Region title added a South Region tournament championsh­ip to their resume on Thursday night, beating hosts in the finals in Collegedal­e.

Tori Hall led the way with eight points for the Lady Eagles (13-8). The senior also had seven rebounds, four assists and collected a dozen steals. Phillips finished with seven points.

Lexie Asher had six points and three rebounds, while Green had six points, 11 boards, three steals and two blocks.

Ownby four points and five rebounds. Kylie Hall had three points and three steals, while Lewis added two points and two steals.
