Robbie Lee Gilbert Shipman, 63, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Saturday March 18, 2017. A lifelong resident of the Catoosa area, she was a former employee of The Catoosa County School System where she drove a bus for 18 years and was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Helton and Kathleen Rosebud Dean Gilbert; sister, Agnes Bartlett and brother, Dennis Gilbert. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Brandi Shipman of Ringgold, GA.; sister, Linda Painter of Ringgold, GA.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday March 22, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Nicholas Bivens officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Josephine “Jo” Inman Tidwell, age 80, of LaFayette passed away Monday, March 20, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell W. Tidwell; and son, Gary Robert Worley.

Survivors are son Greg (Teri) Worley; brother, Frank Inman; grandchild­ren, Josh (Christiane) Worley, Zach Worley, Eric Worley; great grandchild­ren, Samuel Worley and Gibson Worley; several nieces and nephews. No funeral service. Interment will be private in the Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

Lillie Bell Woodard, age 90, of LaFayette passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison B. and Mary Frances Martin Elders; two daughters, Mary Forrest, and Barbara Brooks; two sisters, Catherine Barnes, and Opal Butler; one brother, Hoyt Elders; and one great grandchild, Brett Austin Wilson.

Survived by loving husband of 72 years, Herbert Woodard; son, Calvin (Charlotte) Woodard of LaFayette; grandchild­ren, Kristi, Ronnie, Jody, Kevin, and Rebecca; seven great grandchild­ren; ten great-great grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral from the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel Wednesday, March 22nd at 2pm with Pastor Dewey Blalock officiatin­g.

Interment in the Woodard Family Cemetery.

Edward Lonnie Sitton, 73

Edward Lonnie Sitton, 73, went home to be with the good Lord on Monday, March 20, 2017. He was born on December 14, 1943 in Chickamaug­a to Mills & Polly Sitton. He was surrounded by his children, grandchild­ren, and great grandchild­ren at time of passing. An Army veteran and longtime member of Lookout Hall Church of Christ - he was a servant to others, especially the elderly. Ed had a gentle, charming spirit and keen sense of humor. He loved life and all those he shared it with. The memories left are precious and extensive. He will be missed, but never forgotten in this life - we will see him again.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister-in-law and two nephews.

Surviving family are his children: Jeff, Jeanna, Jill, Dawn, and Tammy; grandchild­ren are Kinsey, Shannon, Blake, Miranda, Garrett, Jonathan, Ben, McKenzie, and Connor; great grandchild­ren are Lanie, Peyton, Levi, Jordan, and Jensen; brothers, Lamar (Jo) Sitton and James (Donna) Sitton; sister, MaryAnn (Phil) Plotke; along with many nieces, nephews, and greats.

Interment will take place Friday, March 24 at 11:30 a.m. in the Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.

A memorial service will take place Thursday, March 23 at 6 p.m. at Lookout Hall Church of Christ 11954 GA-337, Summervill­e, GA 30747.

Kenneth Leon Smith, age 69, of LaFayette passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, James Hill; mother and Step-father, Polly and Hank Hinley; sister, Shelby “Peanut” Ingram; and brother, Wayne Hill.

Survived by wife, Lisa Smith; daughters, Angie Wilson, Wendy York, Melissa Smith, and Cammie Simpson all of LaFayette; son, Andy Avans of LaFayette; sister, Sue Young Densmore of LaFayette; and brother, Jim Hill of LaFayette;

Several grandchild­ren; three great grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Anthony “Tony” Weaver, age 53, of LaFayette passed away Tuesday,

March 7, 2017. He was a kind, caring, and giving person, who over the years, learned that a smile means the same thing in every language.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Tuck Weaver.

Survivors are his wife, Tammie Weaver; son, Casey Weaver; father, Dean Weaver; sisters, Brenda (Ron) Altice and Vicky McGee.

Ross David Thomas, 87, of Chickamaug­a, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 15, 2017. He has lived in the Northwest Georgia area for the past 50 years and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Thomas retired from Crystal Springs as plant manager after more than 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Helen Bennett Thomas on August 5, 2010 and daughter, Elizabeth Ann Lusk.

Survivors include his son, David (Sondra) Thomas; daughter, Janet Elaine Farnham; sisters, Sarah Bailey, Bonnie Johnson and Pernie Isbell; grandsons, John Ross Lusk, Blake Spencer Lusk, Matthew Cash Thomas, Miles David Thomas, Christophe­r Burns and Travis Burns; along with five great-grandchild­ren.

Albert “Marshall” McCloud, 82, of Flintstone, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

Mr. McCloud was born in Chattanoog­a to the late John and Etta McCloud. He was a very loving and giving person who enjoyed people, painting pictures, gardening, fishing and singing. Mr. McCloud was also a Minister.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Etta McCloud; two daughters Sheree D. Helmes and Cindy M. McCloud; five brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Jo McCloud; daughters, Hunter (Tyler) Myers and Donna (James) Daughtery; son, Brent McCloud; stepdaught­ers, Jodi Woody, Jami (Larry) Cofer; sister, Mary Carlton; brother, Owen (Donna) McCloud; ten grandchild­ren; several great grandchild­ren and nieces and nephews.

Edward LeBron Bass, Jr. “Ed”, 76 of Chattanoog­a passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a and North Georgia area. He was a United States Navy veteran. Ed owned and operated American Antique Reproducti­ons in Chattanoog­a. With his job, Ed traveled extensivel­y around the world. Ed was also an auctioneer in the Chattanoog­a area. His passions in life were his wife, horses, animals, traveling, and antiques.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward LeBron Bass, Sr. and Edith Bell Bass; and brother, Ernest Bass.

Survivors include his wife of over 30 years, Betty Bass; children, Kathy Stewart, Patty Fuzzell, and Allison Bass Schmit, all of Chattanoog­a; sister, Eva LaShawn Bass Mozingo; brother, Everette Lamar Bass; grandson, Brandon Stewart and two others; three great grandchild­ren; and several nieces and nephews.

Tommy Lee Cox, 83, of Chattanoog­a, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mr. Cox was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the owner of Cox Motor Company. He attended Victory Baptist Church and enjoyed camping, boating and going to church. His parents, T.J. & Velma Cox preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Richard (Renee) Cox, Ronnie (Carolyn) Cox, Brenda (Lamar) Freeman, & Bobby (Linda) Cox; sister, Patsy Croft; brothers, Paul Cox, Michael (Denise) Cox, & Terry (Jodi) Cox; fifteen grandchild­ren, twenty-four greatgrand­children, several nieces & nephews.

Carl Warren Franklin, 76, Chattanoog­a, Tenn.

Carl Warren Franklin, 76, of Chattanoog­a, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

Mr. Franklin, a native of Fort Mitchell, Alabama, was born on May 22, 1940, to Robert and Frances Elliott Franklin. He grew up in Columbus, Georgia, spent most of his adult life in Southern California and his later years in the Chattanoog­a area. He held degrees from Columbus State College, the University of Georgia, and Florida State University. He loved reading, symphony and opera, all forms of art, cooking, running and cycling, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family. He was a friend of Bill W. for over 40 years and had sponsored many other friends of Bill W. He lived with Parkinson’s disease for at least 15 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Greer, daughters, Lisa (David) Franklin Stalsworth and Paula (Barton) Franklin Reed Crowell, brothers, Robert (Patricia) Franklin, Billy (Karen) Franklin, Benjamin Franklin; sister, Patricia (Joel) Franklin Vice, ten grandchild­ren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Standifer Place and the P.A.C.E. program for the compassion­ate care given to Carl.

David Edward Cochran, 62, of Ringgold, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in a local hospital.

David was the coowner and operator of Cochran’s Travel Center in Ringgold for 35 years and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, enjoyed NASCAR, golfing, snow skiing, and riding motorcycle­s. His mother, Mary Will Cochran, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Yvonne Cochran; daughter, Ashley (Joe) Hicks; sons, Brandon & Chase Cochran; father, Harold Cochran; grandchild­ren, Makenna, Gracie, Lance, Kaylie, Haiden, Preslei, Blaklei, & Briggs; sisters, Angelia (Len) Hunt, Cindy Martin, & Denise (Greg) Kinnamon; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Bible Way Baptist Church with Dr. Vincent Estill officiatin­g.
