Middle School Golf: Langford goes low as Ramblers win in LaFayette
The LaFayette Middle School golfers got a 42 from Grant Langford and finished with a team score of 215 to win a three-team match at the LaFayette Golf Course last Monday.
Dade County was second with a 239, followed by Gordon Lee at 242.
No other individual scores were provided as of press time.
On Tuesday, in a match against Ringgold, Langford was leading the way at 3-over par through six holes at Windstone when play was stopped due to weather.
LaFayette was 51-over as a team through six holes, while Ringgold was 11 shots back through the same number of holes.

Eagles showing improvement
Chattanooga Valley placed third in a threeteam match at the Brainerd Golf Course last Monday, but head coach Zach Cleghorn said he was more than pleased with his team’s performance.
Ringgold won the match with a score of 221, followed by Lakeview with a 227 and CVMS at 229.
Eagles’ player Chanse Lewis was the day’s low medalist with a 46.
“This is the best performance from a Chattanooga Valley golf team in seven years,” Cleghorn explained. “I’m very proud with everyone’s effort. If each player improves their own score by two strokes, we win the match.”

CVMS, along with Saddle Ridge, Rossville and Dade County teed off at the LaFayette Golf Course last Tuesday, but the nine-hole match was halted by weather before completion.
The team’s No. 1 golfers had completed seven innings when lightning stopped the match. The No. 2 and No. 3 golfers got in five holes, while the No. 4 golfers finished three holes. Scores were totaled based on the number of holes finished.
Saddle Ridge finished at 111, followed by CVMS with 125. Dade County shot 136 and Rossville checked in at 140.
Lewis was leading the way a 34 through seven holes when play was halted.
