Sen. Jeff Mullis (R-Chickamauga) announced this week two Georgia Department of Transportation contracts awarded to Senate District 53 totaling around $37.1 million for construction, resurfacing and maintenance.

I look forward to working with GDOT in the future to bring additional contracts to the community that will benefit daily commutes and ease congestion.”

The first project will address about 2.1 miles of widening and reconstruction on state Highway 151 (Alabama Highway) from south of Rollins Industrial Park/Holcomb Road to U.S. Highway 41/ state Highway 2 (Dixie Highway) in Catoosa County. This project also includes construction of two bridges and approaches. The total amount for this award is around $34.6 million and the anticipated completion date is Dec.31, 2020.

The second project was awarded to Dade County for around 10.3 miles of milling, plant mix resurfacing and shoulder rehabilitation on state Highway 301 from Alabama State Line to Alabama State Line. This award total is around $2.5 million and the project will be completed on Feb.28, 2018.
