Eucharistic Congress June 16/17
Each year, the Eucharistic Congress brings together Roman Catholics from across the archdiocese and the country to celebrate the visible, living presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
Archbishop Wilton Gregory, along with Bishop Luis Zarama and Bishop-Elect Ned Shlesinger, invite all to this annual conference focused on the Holy Eucharist and how to put your Catholic faith into action in everyday life.
The Archdiocese of Atlanta will celebrate this event at the Georgia International Convention Center on Friday, June 16, from 4:30 - 10 p.m. and on Saturday, June 17, from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.
About 30,000 Catholics attend this annual spiritual and multicultural celebration. This conference features workshops presented on tracks in five languages: English, Spanish, American Sign Language, Vietnamese and French. There will also be programs for children and middle schoolers.
Some of this year’s speakers include Brandon Vogt, Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, Dr. Gianna Molla, Father Larry Richards, Fr. Michael E. Gaitley, MIC and Sister Jane Dominic Laurel, O.P.
This year, there will also be a special service event called STARVE WARS! EPISODE II - Families Feeding Families!, a collaborative effort between the Archdiocese of Atlanta’s Justice and Peace Ministries, Catholic Relief Services, Helping Hands, and the people of the Archdiocese of Atlanta.
Antendees hope to pack 100,000 meals to go to the impoverished developing country of Burkina Faso in Africa. This event will take place Friday, June 16, at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
