Flash 0-2 to start new CASL season

The Fairyland Flash swim team began Chattanoog­a Area Swim League (CASL) Blue Division action this past week with a pair of dual meets, but began the season 0-2 after falling to Stuart Heights and Signal Mountain.

The season began on Monday, June 5 as the Flash lost to Stuart Heights, 405.5-389.5, atop Lookout Mountain.

Ethan Bevill and Harrison Barnes paced the Flash with 19 points each. Ellen Taliaferro added 17 points, while Anna Ward and Benjamin Bevill collected 15 points apiece.

Also scoring in double figures for Fairyland were Frances Bohner, Carley Braman and Morton Wingfield (13 points), David Horne, Nathan Jackson, William Jackson and Annie McBryar (12 points), Samuel Jackson, Avery Ball and Elizabeth Wilson (11 points) and Henry Wingfield (10 points).

Three nights later, Fairyland traveled to Signal Mountain to face the Green Giants and lost by a score of 464.5314.5.

Taliaferro paced the Flash with 19 points, followed by Benjamin Bevill with 17 points and Bohner with 16 points.

Annie McBryar finished with 15 points. Barnes had 14, followed by Ethan Bevill with 13, Ward with 12, Jane Eiselstein with 11.5, Samuel Jackson with 11 and Morton Wingfield and Emrick Garrett with 10 each.

Due to newspaper deadlines, results of this past Monday’s home meet with Ooltewah were not available as of press time.

The Flash is scheduled to swim at Dalton this Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
