Gertrude Stone Dabbs, 89, Lookout Mountain, Ga.

Gertrude Stone Dabbs, of Lookout Mountain, Ga., went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at her home. She was 89.

She was born on November 10, 1927, to the late James Franklin and Thelma Voiles Stone and spent her entire life in the West Brow Community of Lookout Mountain.

Gertrude was a lifelong member of the West Brow Holiness Church and was known for her great culinary skills, especially her coconut cake. She was a true friend and prayer warrior to everyone.

Mrs. Dabbs was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Reburn Dabbs; grandson, Sylvester Dabbs; granddaugh­ters, Judy Gioconne’ and Jackie Burson and brother, James R. “Buck” Stone.

Survivors include: her sons and daughtersi­n-law, Junior and Orateen Dabbs, Lumpkin, Ga., Gary and Teresa Dabbs, Lookout Mountain, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Jim Johnson, Chattanoog­a, Tenn.; sister, Ruth “Suby” Clark; brother, Marvin Stone, both of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; six grandchild­ren; several great and great-great grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel.

Funeral services: will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Brother Mark Finlayson officiatin­g.

Burial: will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Garden, Trenton, Ga.
