Jimmie Loretta Abbott, 78, LaFayette
Jimmie Loretta Abbott, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Friday, June 9, 2017, at Cornerstone Medical. She was 78.
She was born Feb. 2, 1939, in LaFayette to the late Shannon Kirk and Mae Barton Ponder.
Prior to retirement, Jimmie worked as a machine operator for Queen Carpet.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Lamar Abbott; brother, John Kirk and sister, Yvonne Willingham.
Survivors include: son, Terry (Vickie) Abbott of LaFayette; grandchildren, Brooke (Allen) Smith, Shannon Abbott, Jerome (Cindy) Templeton; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Tanner, Logan, Sable; sisters, Maxine McAlister and Cathy (LaGary) Hewitt all of LaFayette and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: at the funeral home Sunday from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m.
Funeral service: 5 p.m. Monday, June 12, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Thompson officiating.
Burial: in LaFayette City Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Jerome Templeton, John Kirk, A.J. Carroll, Tim McAlister, LaGary Hewitt, Lonnie Gilreath and Allen Smith.
