Three locals graduate from Georgia Tech

The Georgia Institute of Technology presented degrees to approximat­ely 3,800 undergradu­ate and graduate students during the Institute’s 253rd Commenceme­nt exercises on May 5-6, 2017, at the McCamish Pavilion. Among those awarded degrees are:

Nicolas Hernandez of Lafayette, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineerin­g

Megan Haley, of Rossville, Bachelor of Science in Public Policy

Sidni Vaughn, of Summervill­e, Master of Science in Psychology

Two from Catoosa are newest University of the South graduates

Students awarded a degree at the University of the South’s 2017 commenceme­nt ceremonies, held May 14 in All Saints’ Chapel on the Sewanee campus, included:.

* Clayton Scott Born earned a BA in economics.

* Leo Preston Born was awarded a BA in psychology.

They are the sons of Lisa and Scott L. Born of Ringgold.

Four from Walker county among 5,000 University of Alabama graduates

The University of Alabama awarded approximat­ely 5,000 degrees during spring commenceme­nt May 5-7.

Among the degree recipients were:

Gregory Mills, of Rising Fawn, earned a Bachelor of Science.

Cara Walker, of Rossville, was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Communicat­ion & Informatio­n Sciences .

Samuel Greene, of Lookout Mountain, received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce & Business Administra­tion .

Zachary McKelvey, of Lookout Mountain, earned his Bachelor of Science in Human Environmen­tal Sciences.

Wyatt Graduates from Valdosta State University

Brandy Wyatt, of Chickamaug­a, has earned a Master of Library and Informatio­n Science from Valdosta State University.
