Jan­ice was pre­ceded in death by her; fa­ther, James Crowe; mother and step-fa­ther, Bob­bie and Wil­liam Wil­liams; sis­ter, Martha Ann Bishop; brother-in-law, Dean Strong.

Sur­vivors in­clude her brother, Har­lan “Buddy” (Pam) Cook; sis­ters, Char­lene Strong, Juanita (Larry) Phelps, Tr­isha Pen­ning­ton; niece, Elisha (Der­win) Jack­son; neph­ews, Billy and Gerald Easter­lin; great nieces, Made­lyn and Tay­lor Jack­son sev­eral other nieces, neph­ews and spe­cial friends also sur­vive.

Henry (Char­lie) Wal­lace Hawthorne, age 76, of Rock Spring passed away Mon­day, June 19, 2017. He was a mem­ber of Church of Christ of Chicka­mauga and a vet­eran of the U.S. Navy.

of Rock Spring; daugh­ter, Crys­tal (Mark) Hawthorne Buff­in­g­ton of Noble, GA; son, Andy (Dee) Hawthorne of Day­ton, Tenn.; grand­chil­dren, Ceanna Asher, Kalie Asher, Cul­ley Hawthorne, David Hawthorne; great grand­child, Mar­shall Eli Gross; sis­ter, Thelma Clark; and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Jewe­lene Tharp Frye, age 79, of LaFayette passed away Fri­day, June 16, 2017.

She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Bill Frye; son, Ricky Ed­ward Frye; par­ents, Gaskel Tharp and Flora Short Tharp; brother, Joe Alvin Tharp.

Sur­vivors are daugh­ter, Anita (Joel) Hop­pis of Ok­la­homa; son, David (Joann) Frye of Rossville; grand­chil­dren, D.J. David Allen LaNeve, 53, of Rossville, passed away on Thurs­day, June 22, 2017.

A na­tive of Detroit, Michi­gan, David had spent sev­eral years in McMin­nville, Ten­nessee and the past thirty years in Rossville. He was em­ployed with Pre­mier Pat­tern & Ma­chine, was a mem­ber of the North Ge­or­gia Wor­ship Cen­ter, and en­joyed camp­ing and Nas­car. David was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, Wil­liam & Ruby LaNeve.

Sur­vivors in­clude his loving wife of 28 years, Denise Madaris LaNeve; sis­ters, Deb­bie Lit­tle, McMin­nville, TN, and Teri Brax­ton, Cookeville, TN.

Oma Jo Hall, 87, Rossville

Oma Jo Hall, 87, of Rossville, went home to be with her Lord on Tues­day, June 20, 2017, sur­rounded by her fam­ily.

Mrs. Hall was born on June 21, 1929 in Brasstown, North Carolina to the late Wil­lam & Mary Ma­son. She was a mem­ber of the Mag­gie Chapel Bap­tist Church in Brasstown and she loved sewing and spend­ing time with her hus­band, es­pe­cially go­ing to bowl­ing events with him. In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, she was pre­ceded in death by her grand­par­ents, and sis­ter, Frances Eloise Kephart.

Sur­vivors in­clude her loving hus­band of 67 years, Robert Dil­lard Hall; many nieces and neph­ews, in­clud­ing Michael & Linda Kephart, and James & Jan Barnes; spe­cial friends that she con­sid­ered grand­chil­dren, Jonathan & Yar­itza Young; best friends, Tut­tie Kelly & Gin­ger Clay­ton; spe­cial fam­ily friend, Ron­nie Thomp­son.

Mrs. Stephens was an ac­tive mem­ber of the Rossville Church of Christ, was a vol­un­teer for the food panty and served as a pink lady at Hutch­e­son Med­i­cal Cen­ter. She was a Gold Star Wife, vol­un­teered with the Navy Aux­il­iary, loved her fam­ily un­con­di­tion­ally and en­joyed cook­ing, trav­el­ing, and mak­ing fruit cakes. She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, John Stephens Jr., par­ents, John & Lil­lie Corbin, sis­ters, Edith Odell, & Stella Corbin, broth­ers, Don­ald, Wayne, Joseph, & John Paul Corbin.

Sur­vivors in­clude her chil­dren, Anita Beard, Sharon (Mark) Mar­cus, Don­ald Wha­ley, & Sarah (DeFor­est) Mont­gomery; broth­ers, Wil­liam, James, Max (Carol), & Ira (Mary) Corbin; ten grand­chil­dren, twenty-seven great­grand­chil­dren, six great-great­grand­chil­dren, sev­eral nieces, neph­ews and cousins.
