She was a member of Rock Bridge Community Church where she served as a greeter. Janice loved everybody and was a joy to all who knew her. Heaven has truly gained a blessed angel.

Janice was preceded in death by her; father, James Crowe; mother and step-father, Bobbie and William Williams; sister, Martha Ann Bishop; brother-in-law, Dean Strong.

Survivors include her brother, Harlan “Buddy” (Pam) Cook; sisters, Charlene Strong, Juanita (Larry) Phelps, Trisha Pennington; niece, Elisha (Derwin) Jackson; nephews, Billy and Gerald Easterlin; great nieces, Madelyn and Taylor Jackson several other nieces, nephews and special friends also survive.

Funeral services: 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 23, 2017, in the WallisStew­art Chapel with Rev. Steven Hair and Rev. Alfred Turley officiatin­g.

Burial: Gordy Cemetery.

Henry (Charlie) Wallace Hawthorne, age 76, of Rock Spring passed away Monday, June 19, 2017. He was a member of Church of Christ of Chickamaug­a and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Bates Hawthorne

of Rock Spring; daughter, Crystal (Mark) Hawthorne Buffington of Noble, GA; son, Andy (Dee) Hawthorne of Dayton, Tenn.; grandchild­ren, Ceanna Asher, Kalie Asher, Culley Hawthorne, David Hawthorne; great grandchild, Marshall Eli Gross; sister, Thelma Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service: 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 21 at LaFayette Memory Gardens with Minister Shane Robinson officiatin­g.

Jewelene Tharp Frye, 79, LaFayette

Jewelene Tharp Frye, age 79, of LaFayette passed away Friday, June 16, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Frye; son, Ricky Edward Frye; parents, Gaskel Tharp and Flora Short Tharp; brother, Joe Alvin Tharp.

Survivors are daughter, Anita (Joel) Hoppis of Oklahoma; son, David (Joann) Frye of Rossville; grandchild­ren, D.J. Frye, Brandon Hoppis, Christophe­r Hoppis; great grandchild­ren, Candace Frye, Braxton Hoppis, Hadley Hoppis, Christina Griffith; sisters, Della Ashworth and Jeannette (Johnny) Stephens of LaFayette; brothers, Jessie Tharp and W.T. Tharp of Noble; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel.

David Allen LaNeve, 53, of Rossville

David Allen LaNeve, 53, of Rossville, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, David had spent several years in McMinnvill­e, Tennessee and the past thirty years in Rossville. He was employed with Premier Pattern & Machine, was a member of the North Georgia Worship Center, and enjoyed camping and Nascar. David was preceded in death by his parents, William & Ruby LaNeve.

Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Denise Madaris LaNeve; sisters, Debbie Little, McMinnvill­e, TN, and Teri Braxton, Cookeville, TN.

Funeral services: Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Nick Forshee officiatin­g.

Burial: Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens, West.

Oma Jo Hall, 87, Rossville

Oma Jo Hall, 87, of Rossville, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Hall was born on June 21, 1929 in Brasstown, North Carolina to the late Willam & Mary Mason. She was a member of the Maggie Chapel Baptist Church in Brasstown and she loved sewing and spending time with her husband, especially going to bowling events with him. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparen­ts, and sister, Frances Eloise Kephart.

Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Robert Dillard Hall; many nieces and nephews, including Michael & Linda Kephart, and James & Jan Barnes; special friends that she considered grandchild­ren, Jonathan & Yaritza Young; best friends, Tuttie Kelly & Ginger Clayton; special family friend, Ronnie Thompson.

Funeral services: Monday, June 26th at 10:30 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel. Eulogies given by family members.

Burial: Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.

Shirley Faye Stephens, 81, Rossville

Shirley Faye Stephens, 81, of Rossville, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.

Mrs. Stephens was an active member of the Rossville Church of Christ, was a volunteer for the food panty and served as a pink lady at Hutcheson Medical Center. She was a Gold Star Wife, volunteere­d with the Navy Auxiliary, loved her family unconditio­nally and enjoyed cooking, traveling, and making fruit cakes. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Stephens Jr., parents, John & Lillie Corbin, sisters, Edith Odell, & Stella Corbin, brothers, Donald, Wayne, Joseph, & John Paul Corbin.

Survivors include her children, Anita Beard, Sharon (Mark) Marcus, Donald Whaley, & Sarah (DeForest) Montgomery; brothers, William, James, Max (Carol), & Ira (Mary) Corbin; ten grandchild­ren, twenty-seven greatgrand­children, six great-greatgrand­children, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services: Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel.

Burial: private interment in TennesseeG­eorgia Memorial Park.
