COMMUNITY · The LaFayette Parks and Recreation Department will host the annual Freedom Festival on Friday, June 30. There will be games, activities, live music and other entertainm­ent beginning at 5 p.m. and concluding with a 10 p.m. fireworks extravagan­za at. This free outdoor event will take place at the municipal park at 638 South Main St., just south of downtown LaFayette.

Saturday, July 1

RECREATION · Sunset strolls to Sunset Point are conducted at 5 p.m. every Saturday through November at Cloudland Canyon State Park. Take a stroll with a park ranger to one of the park’s best kept secrets. Enjoy views of Trenton, Lookout Valley, Sand Mountain and more while the sky turns colorful at sunset. Meet at the West Rim Access parking lot for this. 45-minute program. Start time varies according to time of sunset. Ask about specific times at visitor center. $5 parking. Monday, July 3

COMMUNITY · Celebratin­g the birth of the United States takes center stage at the 11th annual “Patriotism at The Post” concert and fireworks show slated for Fort Oglethorpe’s historic Barnhardt Circle beginning at 7:30p.m. on Monday July 3. The festivitie­s include a patriotic concert and sing-a-long, food, kid’s activities, coloring contest and the naming of the Most Patriotic Boy and Girl, followed by fireworks at dark. The event is free, but donations of $5-per-vehicle will be collected to park at the polo field.

Friday, July 7

ENTERTAINM­ENT · The Share America Foundation will present Christian music stars the Marksmen Quartet and the Troy Burns Family on Friday, July 7, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ringgold’s Patriot Hall, 320 Emberson St. in Ringgold. Donations for tickets are adults: $10, Children 12 and under free with adult.

Saturday, July 8
