Bobcats, Lady Bobcats holding open gym workouts

The Georgia Northwestern Lady Bobcats’ volleyball program will hold open gym workouts on July 31 from 6-7:30 p.m.

The Georgia Northwestern Lady Bobcats’ basketball program will hold open gym workouts on July 27 and Aug. 3 from 5-6:30 p.m., while the Bobcats’ men’s team will hold open gym workouts on July 27 from 6:30-8 p.m. and on Aug. 3 from 7:30-9 p.m.

All open gym workouts will be held at the Rossville Athletic Center (301 Williams Street). Incoming and/or current GNTC students are encouraged and invited to attend.

Prospective athletes must bring a completed and updated physical form in order to participate.

The GNTC athletic department orientation will be held on the school’s Walker County Campus in Rock Spring on Thursday, Aug. 3 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Attendance is required for all Georgia Northwestern student-athletes in all sports.

Youth Signups at Rossville

Rossville Recreation will hold signups for football and cheerleading every Saturday in July, from 10 a.m.-12 noon, at the Rossville Athletic Center.

Signups are open to boys and girls, ages 5-12.

Practice will begin on Aug. 1

Gordon Lee Alumni Softball Game

The first Gordon Lee High School Alumni Softball Game will take place on Aug. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at Crystal Springs Field.

The cost is $30 per player, which includes a shirt and a post-game meal.

Admission to the game is $5 and admission to the game plus a post-game meal ticket is $10.
