Elder’s Ace Hardware is a Blood Assurance “Champion”

-

Nonprofit regional blood center Blood Assurance announced that Elder’s Ace Hardware is its August #BAChampion community partner. A #BAChampion is a community partner who has committed to raising awareness within their community through various special events dedicated to education and blood collection.

“We are honored to partner with Blood Assurance to help raise awareness of the need for blood donations this month,” said Tom Glenn, president of Elder’s Ace Hardware. “Elder’s was founded on the principle of helpfulness…not just in the stores, but throughout our community as well. It’s a privilege to help our neighbors who find themselves as patients in need.”

Through the #BAChampion initiative, Blood Assurance unites with businesses and organizations to further educate the community on the importance of blood donations. The #BAChampion title is given to an organization that is dedicated to raising awareness of the constant need for blood donations within their community.

“Elder’s Ace Hardware has been giving back to the East Tennessee and North Georgia regions for many years, and Blood Assurance is proud to have them as our August #BAChampion,” said Jay Baumgardner, executive director of marketing and community relations for Blood Assurance. “Blood supply is very low in the summer months, and Elder’s Ace Hardware is helping to ensure that blood donations are available for patients in need.”

Elder’s Ace Hardware was founded in 1969 when Elder Glenn and three partners opened their first store outside of the Chattanooga city limits. In the last 48 years, the company has remained a family owned and locally operated group and has expanded to include 20 stores. Elder Glenn’s sons, Tom Glenn and Grif Glenn, vice president and controller, manage the stores with the philosophy of providing outstanding customer service to all guests, hiring staff with experience in hardware, stocking topof-the-line products and offering competitive pricing.

Elder’s Ace Hardware has 20 locations throughout East Tennessee and North Georgia. These locations include nine stores in Chattanooga, one store in Cleveland, four stores in North Georgia and six stores in Knoxville.
