Saddle Ridge drops two games

- By Scott Herpst

The Saddle Ridge Lady Mustangs traveled to Heritage last Tuesday and took one on the chin, losing to the Lady Generals, 19-0, in three innings.

Heritage scored 12 runs in the first and added seven in the second before ending the game on the run rule a half-inning later.

Lexi Baker went 2-for-2 with a double for Saddle Ridge, while Mykeria Johnson added a single.

Individual statistics for Heritage were not provided as of press time.

Trion 6, Saddle Ridge 1

A solid pitching performance by Baker wasn’t enough for the Saddle Ridge Lady

Mustangs this past Thursday as they managed just one run in a loss to Trion in a game played at LaFayette High School.

Trion was held scoreless through three innings before pushing home a run in the fourth. However, Saddle Ridge would answer as Madison Sisemore doubled and eventually came home on an Abby

Sansing RBI.

The Lady Bulldogs tacked on a solo tally in the fifth to retake the lead and put the game away with some late insurance runs.

Haynie Gilstrap added a hit for the Lady Mustangs. Baker used her change-up to record with three strikeouts.

Saddle Ridge will play at Dade County on Tuesday before hosting Heritage again on Thursday at LaFayette High School.
