Lady Ea­gles heat­ing up as SCAA con­fer­ence tour­na­ment ap­proaches

The Oak­wood Chris­tian Lady Ea­gles are now 9-5 on the sea­son, fol­low­ing their most re­cent three vic­to­ries.

Last Mon­day, the Navy-and-Gold went on the road and swept Ten­nessee Chris­tian Prep by scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-17.

Lexie Asher had six kills to lead the OCA of­fense. An­nika Green had four kills and three blocks, while Mary Ownby added three kills.

Lily Green had two kills, two blocks and two digs. Raleigh Suits picked up four digs to go with one kill, while Olivia Guest and Amelia Michael had one kill apiece.

One night later, back at home in Chicka­mauga, OCA han­dled Shenan­doah Bap­tist Academy, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-20.

Asher had five more kills, plus a dig, while An­nika Green had six kills, five blocks and two digs. Guest fin­ished with two kills and Suits recorded four digs.

Green blocked two shots and added a dig and a kill. Ownby had two digs, while Char­ity Bankston picked up a kill. Michael scored six straight ser­vice points in the sec­ond set.

Then on Friday af­ter­noon, the Lady Ea­gles had a re­match with Shenan­doah and picked up an­other sweep, this time by scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-15.

Michael had nine straight ser­vice points to be­gin the match and had 13 ser­vice points in the sec­ond set.
