Mid­dle School Foot­ball Roundup: Chatt. Val­ley clinches play­off berth

The Chat­tanooga Val­ley Ea­gles sewed up a play­off spot out of the NGAC West Divi­sion with a 26-8 win at Dade County this past Thurs­day.

Johnathan Woodall, Amarreon Turner and Jacob Klein had big nights de­fen­sively for the Ea­gles. Klein had five solo tack­les for a loss, Turner came up with a big in­ter­cep­tion and Woodall had three tack­les for loss, in­clud­ing a sack.

Of­fen­sively, Dil­lon Shrop­shire and Jakobe Turner com­bined for four touch­downs on the night.

CVMS (4-1) will play next Thurs­day at Rossville (4:30 p.m.) in a game that will de­ter­mine their seed­ing for the NGAC play­offs.

Rossville 30, Gor­don Lee 0

The Bull­dogs are now 5-0 af­ter a shutout win over Gor­don Lee on Thurs­day.

Gor­don Cas­teel rushed 15 times for 163 yards and scored three touch­downs, while El­li­jah Langston had a 48-yard in­ter­cep­tion re­turn for a score.

For the Tro­jans (1-4), Kade Cowan had four tack­les, while Bo Rhudy and Hunter Stephens each had three.

Rossville will host Chat­tanooga Val­ley this Thurs­day, while Gor­don Lee will travel to Sad­dle Ridge that same day.

Ring­gold 42, Trion 0

The Tigers moved to 5-0 over­all and 3-0 in the NGAC’s East Divi­sion with a win over Trion on Thurs­day.

Malachi Hill scored on runs of 12 and 61 yards. Ma­son Parker had touch­down runs of 5 and 53 yards, while Kyle White scored on a 60-yard run and con­verted a pair of 2-point tries. Kori Du­mas added a 25-yard TD run and a 2-point con­ver­sion.

Rob­bie Bates, Ash­ton Clark, Lo­gan Gold­smith, Jor­dan Wide­man and Jack­son Lyons an­chored the de­fen­sive ef­fort.

Ring­gold will host LaFayette this coming Thurs­day.

Her­itage 24, Lake­view 0

The Gen­er­als im­proved to 3-2 on the sea­son with a win over Lake­view on Thurs­day.

No fur­ther details were pro­vided as of press time.

Her­itage will play at Trion on Tuesday, Oct. 3, while Lake­view (0-6) will con­clude its sea­son at home against Dade County on Thurs­day, Oct. 5.
