James “Jim” Frank Par­ris, 74, Ring­gold, Ga.

James “Jim” Frank Par­ris, 74, of Ring­gold, Ge­or­gia passed away Mon­day, June 25, 2018 at his res­i­dence.

A life­long res­i­dent of Ring­gold, he at­tended Ring­gold First Bap­tist Church, was a Vet­eran of the U.S. Army and was a for­mer em­ployee of Salem Equip­ment where he worked for 30 years.

He is pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, Carl and Ruby Lee Wa­ters Par­ris; and brother, R.C. Par­ris.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 41 years, Mary El­iz­a­beth Worm­s­ley Par­ris of Ring­gold, GA.; son and daugh­ter-in­law, Joshua and Linda Par­ris of Rock Is­land, TN.; grand­son, Carl Par­ris; sis­ter-in-law, Betty Har­ris; brother-in­law, Wayne Worm­s­ley; two neph­ews, Stephen Worm­s­ley and Robert (Han­nah) Worm­s­ley.

Grave­side ser­vices: 11:00 A.M. Wed­nes­day, June 27, 2018 at An­der­son Memo­rial Gar­dens in Ring­gold with Pas­tor Ted Phillips of­fi­ci­at­ing.

In lieu of flow­ers the fam­ily would like do­na­tions to be sent to St. Jude’s Chil­dren’s Re­search Hospi­tal.

Alice Mae Wa­ters Dew, 99, Chat­tanooga, Tenn.

Alice Mae Wa­ters Dew, 99 of Chat­tanooga went home to be with her Lord and Sav­ior on Sun­day, June 24, 2018.

She had lived in the Chat­tanooga area for most of her life and was a mem­ber of East Lake Church of God. She had worked at Rossville Yarn for many years and was al­ways work­ing and vol­un­teer­ing with Hamil­ton County Nurs­ing Home. Alice was al­ways putting oth­ers needs be­fore her own and would do any­thing for any­one. She was a lov­ing and de­voted friend, wife and aunt who will be truly missed by all that knew her.

She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Davis Dew.

Sur­vivors in­clude her 2 neph­ews, Mike Phillips and Gene Man­ning; niece, Cathy Rin­tol and nu­mer­ous ex­tended fam­ily & friends.

Ser­vices: 1:30 p.m. on Wed­nes­day, June 27, 2018 at the fu­neral home.

David Ben­jamin Press­ley, 73 of Chat­tanooga, passed away Wed­nes­day June 20, 2018.

David was a se­cu­rity guard for Walden Se­cu­rity and drove a truck for many years. He en­joyed work­ing on cars and spend­ing time in the out­doors.

He was pre­ceded in death by his wife, Shirley Press­ley; son, Jimmy Press­ley; sis­ter, Chris­tine Camp­bell; and par­ents, Ben and Opal Press­ley.

Sur­vivors in­clude his daugh­ters, El­iz­a­beth Dun­can and Becky Robin­son; four grand­chil­dren, Kasey Wort­man, James Press­ley, Ch­a­sity Robin­son, and Dakota Robin­son; and one great-grand­child, Lexi Grant.

Vir­ginia “Chris­tine” Peters Teems, 83, Ring­gold, Ga.

Vir­ginia “Chris­tine” Peters Teems age 83, of Ring­gold, Ge­or­gia, co­founder and vice pres­i­dent of Teems Elec­tric Com­pany, Inc., died June 27, 2018 in Ring­gold, fol­low­ing a lengthy ill­ness.

She born on Fe­bru­ary 16, 1934 to the late Arthur Jasper Peters and An­nie Dee Car­pen­ter Peters. Mrs. Teems was a grad­u­ate of Ring­gold High School and earned cer­ti­fi­ca­tion as a book­keeper from Walker County Tech­ni­cal School. She man­aged the ac­counts of the busi­ness she started with her hus­band of 64 years, the late Ver­non Mar­shall Teems. The com­pany in­cor­po­rated in 1961. It is a mem­ber of the Na­tional Elec­tri­cal Con­trac­tors As­so­ci­a­tion (NECA) and is still fam­ily held. In 1971, when U.S. Pipe and Steel Cor­po­ra­tion of Chat­tanooga went bank­rupt, leav­ing many area sub­con­trac­tors un­der crush­ing debt, Mrs. Teems, along with her hus­band, took out loans to pay sup­pli­ers and re­paid debts, later ex­pand­ing their com­pany, ex­po­nen­tially. As an ac­tive, long-time mem­ber of Mt. Pis­gah Bap­tist Church, she served as di­rec­tor of the Women’s Mis­sion­ary Union (WMU) for many years. She en­joyed fam­ily life and raised four chil­dren. Hob­bies, when she had time to pur­sue them, in­cluded sewing, flower gar­den­ing and travel. She was a de­ter­mined and de­voted spouse and mother who grew up in the De­pres­sion­era South, over­com­ing ob­sta­cles through faith, per­sis­tence and hard work.

She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band Ver­non M. Teems and her par­ents An­nie Dee Car­pen­ter Peters and Arthur Peters of Ring­gold.

Mrs. Teems is sur­vived by her chil­dren, Deb­o­rah Pet­ti­cord (John) of Chat­tanooga, TN, Va­lerie Law­son, Miles Teems (Donna) and Mark Teems (Tammy) all of Ring­gold, GA, her grand­chil­dren are Phillip Teems, Natalie Teems Atwell (Wil­liam), Christy Law­son Carter (Stephen), Katie Law­son Crocker (Thomas), Aaron Pet­ti­cord (Lau­ren), Joanna Pet­ti­cord Chan (Brian), Gar­rett Teems (Mea­gan) and Kate­lynn Teems Fass­nacht (Wil­liam). She had 14 great-grand­chil­dren. She is also sur­vived by her sis­ter, Loretta Turner (John) of Day­ton, Ten­nessee.

Rosella Mae Bid­dle, 98, Easley, S.C.

Rosella Mae Bid­dle, 98, formerly of Rossville, passed from this life to meet her lov­ing Sav­ior on Wed­nes­day morn­ing June 27, 2018 at the Na­tional Health Care Cen­ter in Tul­la­homa, TN with fam­ily at her bed­side.

She gave her life to Christ at a young age and after mov­ing from Rossville, GA to Easley, SC in 2006, be­came a mem­ber of Grace Bap­tist Church, Lib­erty, SC. She was a re­tired em­ployee of the Burling­ton (Peer­less Woolen) Mills, loved singing and was a skill­ful seam­stress and baker. Ms. Bid­dle will be re­mem­bered as a lov­ing and tal­ented aunt.

Born in He­na­gar, AL, to the late Cicero and Lora Ada Bid­dle, she was also pre­ceded in death by her brothers, Gor­don (Pearl) Bid­dle and Rev. S. Mil­ford (Ozell) Bid­dle; sis­ters, Margie (Ernest) Stalvey, Nora (Hous­ton) Shrader, Mil­dred (Mil­ford) Hall, Azile (Wil­bur) Ward, and Louie Bid­dle.

Sur­vivors in­clude sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Le­muel Harold Peters Jr., 64, of LaFayette passed away Mon­day, June 25, 2018.

He was a lov­ing hus­band, fa­ther and grand­fa­ther who en­joyed play­ing horse­shoes, camp­ing, truck driv­ing, trav­el­ing, and spend­ing time with his fam­ily.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, Le­muel Harold Peters Sr., and Grace Gam­blin Peters; brothers, Charles “Chuck” Gowan and John Gowan; sis­ter, Sue Wil­liams.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 47 years, Sherry Dianne Peters; daugh­ter, Ra­mo­nia Womble; son, Scott (Bre­onna) Peters; seven grand­chil­dren; nine great grand­chil­dren; brothers, James (Jo) Gowan and Gene (Linda) Gowan; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Burl Pence, 76, of LaFayette passed away on June 25, 2018. He was born Septem­ber 7, 1941 in LaFayette, Ge­or­gia, to Ge­orge and An­nie (Hill) Pence, who have pre­ceded him in death.

He was pre­ceded in death by his son Phillip Andrew Pence and his twin brother Earl Pence.

Burl is sur­vived by his son, James Wat­son (Shan­non) and his daugh­ter, Lisa McIn­tosh (Loch), his brother, Bill Pence (Joan) and sis­ter, Lena Arnold (Jim). He is also sur­vived by his longtime com­pan­ion Char­lotte Asher. Burl has 6 grand­chil­dren, An­drea, An­gela, Chris­tine, Andrew, Ivy and Vance; 11 great­grand­chil­dren; and four nieces and two neph­ews.

Linda Joyce Smith Sikes age 72, of Ring­gold, Ge­or­gia passed away Fri­day – June 29, 2018.

She was born in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Gar­nett H. and Royal Bai­ley Smith. She was a grad­u­ate of Cen­tral High School in Chat­tanooga, TN – Class of 1964. She grad­u­ated from Grady Hospi­tal School of Nurs­ing in 1967 as a Reg­is­tered Nurse and worked in health­care for many years. She was an ac­com­plished pi­ano player, en­joyed sewing and cross-stitch­ing. She was a longtime mem­ber of the First Bap­tist Church of Fort Oglethorpe.

Along with her par­ents, she is pre­ceded in death by her brother: Michael Sher­man Smith. She is sur­vived by her sons: James Fran­cis “Jimmy” Sikes, Jr. of Chicka­mauga, GA, Jef­frey Christo­pher (Marie Car­men) Sikes of Ring­gold, GA, sis­ters: Su­san Ward of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, Royal Jo (Larry) John­son of Or­ange Park, FL, Jan­ice (Terry) Langston of Bu­ford, GA, Rose­mary Biggs of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, brother: Gar­nett (Holly) Smith, Jr. of Chicka­mauga, GA, grand­sons: Tay­lor Javis Coff­man, An­thony James Sikes, Luke Christo­pher Sikes, sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Wil­liam Al­bert “Bill” War­ren, 94, Rossville, Ga.

Wil­liam Al­bert “Bill” War­ren, 94, a 70-year res­i­dent of the Fairview Com­mu­nity of Rossville, passed away on Satur­day, June 30, 2018 in a lo­cal hospi­tal.

Bill was born in Chat­tanooga on Jan­uary 8, 1924 to the late Roy & Eu­nice War­ren and re­tired from Chat­tanooga Glass Com­pany as a Main­te­nance Fore­man fol­low­ing 38 years of ser­vice. He was a World War II vet­eran of the Army/Air Corp and was also the race team head me­chanic for J. Frank Har­ri­son & Wick Wil­liams and was able to travel the world with the race team in con­junc­tion with his job at Chat­tanooga Glass.

Bill was also pre­ceded in death by his grand­daugh­ter, Carla War­ren Ware.

Sur­vivors in­clude his lov­ing wife of 70 years, Max­ine Ri­mas­f­ski War­ren; sons, Ron­nie War­ren & David (Theresa) War­ren; daugh­ters, Sue (Rickey) Mur­dock & Bonna (Dan) Burkhart; grand­chil­dren, Rickey Mur­dock, Jr., Shel­ley Green, Ron­ald War­ren, Amanda Newell & Tracy Neary; thir­teen great-grand­chil­dren; four great-great­grand­chil­dren; brother, Buster War­ren; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.
