James “Jim” Frank Parris, 74, Ringgold, Ga.

James “Jim” Frank Parris, 74, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Ringgold, he attended Ringgold First Baptist Church, was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a former employee of Salem Equipment where he worked for 30 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruby Lee Waters Parris; and brother, R.C. Parris.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Elizabeth Wormsley Parris of Ringgold, GA.; son and daughter-inlaw, Joshua and Linda Parris of Rock Island, TN.; grandson, Carl Parris; sister-in-law, Betty Harris; brother-inlaw, Wayne Wormsley; two nephews, Stephen Wormsley and Robert (Hannah) Wormsley.

Graveside services: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Anderson Memorial Gardens in Ringgold with Pastor Ted Phillips officiatin­g.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Alice Mae Waters Dew, 99, Chattanoog­a, Tenn.

Alice Mae Waters Dew, 99 of Chattanoog­a went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 24, 2018.

She had lived in the Chattanoog­a area for most of her life and was a member of East Lake Church of God. She had worked at Rossville Yarn for many years and was always working and volunteeri­ng with Hamilton County Nursing Home. Alice was always putting others needs before her own and would do anything for anyone. She was a loving and devoted friend, wife and aunt who will be truly missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Davis Dew.

Survivors include her 2 nephews, Mike Phillips and Gene Manning; niece, Cathy Rintol and numerous extended family & friends.

Services: 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the funeral home.

Burial: Chattanoog­a Memorial Park.

David Benjamin Pressley, 73, Chattanoog­a, Tenn.

David Benjamin Pressley, 73 of Chattanoog­a, passed away Wednesday June 20, 2018.

David was a security guard for Walden Security and drove a truck for many years. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time in the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Pressley; son, Jimmy Pressley; sister, Christine Campbell; and parents, Ben and Opal Pressley.

Survivors include his daughters, Elizabeth Duncan and Becky Robinson; four grandchild­ren, Kasey Wortman, James Pressley, Chasity Robinson, and Dakota Robinson; and one great-grandchild, Lexi Grant.

Funeral services: 2:00 pm Friday, June 29th in the South Crest Chapel with Jimmy Robinson officiatin­g.

Virginia “Christine” Peters Teems, 83, Ringgold, Ga.

Virginia “Christine” Peters Teems age 83, of Ringgold, Georgia, cofounder and vice president of Teems Electric Company, Inc., died June 27, 2018 in Ringgold, following a lengthy illness.

She born on February 16, 1934 to the late Arthur Jasper Peters and Annie Dee Carpenter Peters. Mrs. Teems was a graduate of Ringgold High School and earned certificat­ion as a bookkeeper from Walker County Technical School. She managed the accounts of the business she started with her husband of 64 years, the late Vernon Marshall Teems. The company incorporat­ed in 1961. It is a member of the National Electrical Contractor­s Associatio­n (NECA) and is still family held. In 1971, when U.S. Pipe and Steel Corporatio­n of Chattanoog­a went bankrupt, leaving many area subcontrac­tors under crushing debt, Mrs. Teems, along with her husband, took out loans to pay suppliers and repaid debts, later expanding their company, exponentia­lly. As an active, long-time member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, she served as director of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU) for many years. She enjoyed family life and raised four children. Hobbies, when she had time to pursue them, included sewing, flower gardening and travel. She was a determined and devoted spouse and mother who grew up in the Depression­era South, overcoming obstacles through faith, persistenc­e and hard work.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon M. Teems and her parents Annie Dee Carpenter Peters and Arthur Peters of Ringgold.

Mrs. Teems is survived by her children, Deborah Petticord (John) of Chattanoog­a, TN, Valerie Lawson, Miles Teems (Donna) and Mark Teems (Tammy) all of Ringgold, GA, her grandchild­ren are Phillip Teems, Natalie Teems Atwell (William), Christy Lawson Carter (Stephen), Katie Lawson Crocker (Thomas), Aaron Petticord (Lauren), Joanna Petticord Chan (Brian), Garrett Teems (Meagan) and Katelynn Teems Fassnacht (William). She had 14 great-grandchild­ren. She is also survived by her sister, Loretta Turner (John) of Dayton, Tennessee.

Visitation: Saturday - June 30th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Wallis-Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes at 443 Boynton Drive, Ringgold, Georgia.

Funeral: 2:00 pm on Sunday - July 1, 2018 in the chapel with Pastor Danny Henson officiatin­g.

Rosella Mae Biddle, 98, Easley, S.C.

Rosella Mae Biddle, 98, formerly of Rossville, passed from this life to meet her loving Savior on Wednesday morning June 27, 2018 at the National Health Care Center in Tullahoma, TN with family at her bedside.

She gave her life to Christ at a young age and after moving from Rossville, GA to Easley, SC in 2006, became a member of Grace Baptist Church, Liberty, SC. She was a retired employee of the Burlington (Peerless Woolen) Mills, loved singing and was a skillful seamstress and baker. Ms. Biddle will be remembered as a loving and talented aunt.

Born in Henagar, AL, to the late Cicero and Lora Ada Biddle, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Gordon (Pearl) Biddle and Rev. S. Milford (Ozell) Biddle; sisters, Margie (Ernest) Stalvey, Nora (Houston) Shrader, Mildred (Milford) Hall, Azile (Wilbur) Ward, and Louie Biddle.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Jim Rolen and Pastor Jeffrey Kelley officiatin­g.

Interment: Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Paul Cross; father and mother, Glen “Doc” Reavely and Laura Virginia Rhinehart Reavely.

She is survived by her brother, Jack Reavely of Rock Spring, Ga.; sisters, Mary (Donnie) Rodgers and Kay (Raymond) Proctor of Ringgold, Ga.; brother, Ray Reavely of Ringgold, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2018 in the Anderson Memorial Gardens in Ringgold.

Lemuel Harold Peters Jr., 64, of LaFayette passed away Monday, June 25, 2018.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfathe­r who enjoyed playing horseshoes, camping, truck driving, traveling, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel Harold Peters Sr., and Grace Gamblin Peters; brothers, Charles “Chuck” Gowan and John Gowan; sister, Sue Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sherry Dianne Peters; daughter, Ramonia Womble; son, Scott (Breonna) Peters; seven grandchild­ren; nine great grandchild­ren; brothers, James (Jo) Gowan and Gene (Linda) Gowan; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 2 – 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the funeral home.

Burl Pence, 76, of LaFayette passed away on June 25, 2018. He was born September 7, 1941 in LaFayette, Georgia, to George and Annie (Hill) Pence, who have preceded him in death.

He was preceded in death by his son Phillip Andrew Pence and his twin brother Earl Pence.

Burl is survived by his son, James Watson (Shannon) and his daughter, Lisa McIntosh (Loch), his brother, Bill Pence (Joan) and sister, Lena Arnold (Jim). He is also survived by his longtime companion Charlotte Asher. Burl has 6 grandchild­ren, Andrea, Angela, Christine, Andrew, Ivy and Vance; 11 greatgrand­children; and four nieces and two nephews.

Memorial service: 1 p.m. Saturday June 30, 2018 at Wallis Wilbanks Funeral Home with Brian Dixon officiatin­g.

Matthew Aaron Ridley, age 34, of LaFayette passed away Monday, June 25, 2018.

Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Lynn Ridley.

Survived by his children, Peyton Lynnette Ridley, and Jordan Alexander Ridley; brother, James Allen Ridley; several aunts, uncles, cousins also survive.

Margaret Ann Plemons Wright, 71, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018.

A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, she was a member of Indian Springs Church of God.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar George and Mildred Touchstone Plemons; and brother, Charles Plemons.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kermit Wright of Ringgold, GA.; two daughters, Kim (Jody Stillwell) Kabir of Tunnel Hill, GA., and April (Mike) Butler of Ringgold, GA.; sister, Imogene (Frankie) Vaughn of Rome, GA.; three grandchild­ren, Angel Butler, Hunter Butler and Brittany Kabir, several nieces and nephews.

Linda Joyce Smith Sikes, 72, Ringgold, Ga.

Linda Joyce Smith Sikes age 72, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Friday – June 29, 2018.

She was born in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Garnett H. and Royal Bailey Smith. She was a graduate of Central High School in Chattanoog­a, TN – Class of 1964. She graduated from Grady Hospital School of Nursing in 1967 as a Registered Nurse and worked in healthcare for many years. She was an accomplish­ed piano player, enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother: Michael Sherman Smith. She is survived by her sons: James Francis “Jimmy” Sikes, Jr. of Chickamaug­a, GA, Jeffrey Christophe­r (Marie Carmen) Sikes of Ringgold, GA, sisters: Susan Ward of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, Royal Jo (Larry) Johnson of Orange Park, FL, Janice (Terry) Langston of Buford, GA, Rosemary Biggs of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, brother: Garnett (Holly) Smith, Jr. of Chickamaug­a, GA, grandsons: Taylor Javis Coffman, Anthony James Sikes, Luke Christophe­r Sikes, several nieces and nephews.

William Albert “Bill” Warren, 94, Rossville, Ga.

William Albert “Bill” Warren, 94, a 70-year resident of the Fairview Community of Rossville, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 in a local hospital.

Bill was born in Chattanoog­a on January 8, 1924 to the late Roy & Eunice Warren and retired from Chattanoog­a Glass Company as a Maintenanc­e Foreman following 38 years of service. He was a World War II veteran of the Army/Air Corp and was also the race team head mechanic for J. Frank Harrison & Wick Williams and was able to travel the world with the race team in conjunctio­n with his job at Chattanoog­a Glass.

Bill was also preceded in death by his granddaugh­ter, Carla Warren Ware.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Maxine Rimasfski Warren; sons, Ronnie Warren & David (Theresa) Warren; daughters, Sue (Rickey) Murdock & Bonna (Dan) Burkhart; grandchild­ren, Rickey Murdock, Jr., Shelley Green, Ronald Warren, Amanda Newell & Tracy Neary; thirteen great-grandchild­ren; four great-greatgrand­children; brother, Buster Warren; several nieces and nephews.
