Ringgold inching closer to 6-AAA championship
The Ringgold Tigers have six games left in Region 6-AAA play and they are zeroing in on adding yet another region title to their long list of accomplishments.
Ringgold (17-6 overall) came into the week with a perfect 10-0 mark in region action with two games left against Adairsville, North Murray and county rival LFO to finish up the season.
A home-and-home against Adairsville was slated to kick off on Tuesday of this week at Adairsville (5:55 p.m.) before the scene shifts to Bill Womack Field on Thursday for another battle of the Tigers.

The Blue-and-White coasted to easy four-inning victory over the Jackets last Tuesday night in Catoosa County.
McCain Mangum belted a two-run homerun in the bottom of the first inning and Kenyon Ransom later added an RBI-double before Colin Mountjoy ripped a two-run double in the bottom of the second to help stake the Tigers to a 6-0 lead.

Cartersville 2, Ringgold 0
Traditional Class 5A state powerhouse and current No. 4-ranked Cartersville got two runs in the top of the seventh inning and handed the Tigers a loss Wednesday night to snap the Tigers’ win streak at 11 in a row.
The Purple Hurricanes had just two hits through the first six innings, while the Tigers managed just one hit in their first six times at the plate. However, a single and two hit batters would set the table for the Canes in the seventh as Blake Sutton came through with a two-run single that proved to be the game-winning hit.
Ringgold had two runners in scoring position in the bottom of the second and got a runner to third an inning later, but were unable to crack the scoreboard.
Mangum and Norris had
the hits for Ringgold, both singles. Robbie Bates pitched 4.1 innings, allowing just two hits and four walks with three strikeouts. Mountjoy pitched the final 2.2 innings. He gave up two earned runs on two hits and a walk with one strikeout.
