Gordon Lee High School like most of our society has had a transition phase in learning to deal with Covid, but we have fared well and have learned new ways to continue to provide learning and college and career opportunit­ies for our students. Our high school students are learning to succeed and communicat­e in a virtual world when needed. Our guidance department continues to have regular visits with college, career and military representa­tives, and those who have limited travel now provide informatio­n sessions with students in a virtual setting (photo 1).

Various pathways continue to offer opportunit­ies for students to expand knowledge and prepare for postsecond­ary and the world of work ready to become productive members of the global economy. Pictured are members of the HOSA competitiv­e team at the state leadership conference (photo 2).

The health occupation­s pathway will begin the proprogram of computer science will be offered in the business department during the coming school year.

Teachers continue to focus on project based and applied learning to help foster independen­t thinking and to reinforce the knowledge learned in the classroom. Extracurri­cular activities are viewed as an important and integral part of high school and are being reinstated following the shutdown and many - letics, band and clubs are enjoying getting back to normal and getting a great student and community - mance since their last on March 13, 2020 when the school year abruptly ended.
