The Ringgold Tigers and Heritage Generals completed a home-and-home series late last week with each team winning once on their rivals home field.

The Tigers put up five runs in the top of the fourth inning and allowed just two hits as they took the first game of the two-game set Thursday night in Boynton.

Dawson Ware drove in Dre Morris with a single to begin the inning and Connor Christopher later came through with a three-run triple, while Ross Norman brought in the fifth run on a fielder’s choice.

The no-hit and shutout bids ended for Ringgold in the bottom of the sixth. Gage Shaver led off the inning with a single, took second on catcher’s indifference and moved to third on a groundout off the bat of Landen Skeen. Max Owens later drove him in with a two-out single.

Norman was the only Tiger with two hits on the evening. He also pitched the first four innings without allowing a hit. He walked four and struck out nine, while Mason Burt gave up one earned run on two hits and a walk with three strikeouts in three innings

of relief.

Zach Barrett started for the Generals and went three innings, giving up four earned runs on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts. J.C. Armour struck out two in two hitless innings of relief, and Garrison May allowed one hit in two innings of work. He struck out three batters.

The hits by Shaver and Owens in the sixth were the only ones of the game for Heritage.

HERITAGE 4, RINGGOLD 3

The Generals (3-1) scored the goahead run in the top of the sixth inning

and tacked on two insurance runs in the top of the seventh, but had to stave off a final Ringgold rally for a 4-3 victory over the Tigers on Friday at Bill Womack Field.

A Mason Parker sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning staked the Tigers to a 1-0 lead and Heritage finally broke through in the top of the fourth inning as Cannon Stafford doubled before racing home on a double off the bat of Shaver.

The Navy-and-Red took the lead two innings later, loading the bases
