MONDAY, APRIL 4 On Monday, April 4, the Catoosa County Republican Party will hold its monthly meeting

at The Ringgold Depot, 155 Depot Street, with a meetand-greet at 6 p.m. and the meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. Speaking will be Josh Clark, candidate for U.S. Senate; a representa­tive from the “David Perdue for Governor” campaign; a representa­tive from the “Jody Hice for Secretary of State” campaign; Khartik Bhatt, candidate for labor commission­er; Colton Moore and Steven Henry, candidates for Georgia Senate District 53; Jim Coles and Todd Noblitt, candidates for Georgia House of Representa­tives; Britt Fant, Chuck Harris, Ray Johnson, Charlie Stephens and Nick Ware, candidates for Catoosa County Board of Commission­ers. Georgia Northweste­rn Technical College (GNTC) will hold a job fair for GNTC students and graduates on Thursday, April 7. The job fair will be open to GNTC students and graduates from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Building B Atrium on GNTC’s Whitfield-Murray Campus in Dalton. More than 30 employers will attend the event. Industry representa­tives will be onhand to provide informatio­n and discuss employment opportunit­ies with attendees. On Saturday, April 9, Chickamaug­a & Chattanoog­a National Military Park, in partnershi­p with the American Battlefiel­d Trust’s Park Day, requests volunteers to help clear brush and debris from the historic earthworks of the 18th Ohio Battery, located on Stringer’s Ridge at the Moccasin Bend National Archeologi­cal District. Sign- up will start at 8:30 a.m. at the south parking area, formerly the old model airplane field, located across the street from 200 Moccasin Bend Road in Chattanoog­a. Come dressed for outdoor work and wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. For safety reasons and due to the nature of the work, clothing should include long-sleeved shirts, long pants, tennis shoes or work boots. Tools, gloves, and other personal protective equipment will be provided. Come prepared for the weather, as the project will be conducted rain or shine. After the event, an interpreti­ve program will be conducted by park historian Jim Ogden on the role the 18th Ohio Battery played during the siege and battles. Georgia Northweste­rn Technical College (GNTC) will host a Free Applicatio­n Week, April 11-15, to help those who are seeking to enroll in the summer semester. During Free Applicatio­n Week, GNTC will waive the $25 applicatio­n fee for all new applicants. The admissions deadline for the summer semester is April 25. Classes are scheduled to begin on May 16. GNTC is available through its call center Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., at 866-983-4682.
