Gordon Lee stumbles on the road

The Trojans and Lady Trojans journeyed to Rossville last Tuesday to battle Ridgeland in a pair of Region 6-3A contests.

RIDGELAND GIRLS 59, GORDON LEE 29

The first game of the night saw the Navy-and-White fall behind early and never recover in a loss to the Lady Panthers.

Gordon Lee (0-4 in Region 6-3A) got 15 points from Emma Phillips, though she was the only Lady Trojan in double figures. Riley Shirley and Macartney Angel scored four points each, while the total was rounded out by two apiece from Abby Logan, Dallas Wagoner and Kaitlyn Wagoner.

RIDGELAND BOYS 68, GORDON LEE 56

The boys’ contest saw the two teams score 30 points apiece in the second half. However, the Panthers held an eight-point advantage after the first quarter and boosted it to 38-26 at intermissi­on on their way to the victory.

Cooper Jackson scored 18 points for the Trojans (0-4 in Region 6-3A) and Sam Sartin had 12, while Will McCutcheon and Luke Sikes both scored nine. Four by Jordan Underwood, three by Andrew Amor and one from Josh Underwood completed the scoring.

TRION GIRLS 50, GORDON LEE 29

Playing a non-region game Thursday night on the road, the Lady Trojans were outscored by a combined 2912 in the second and third quarters as they fell to 1-6 overall on the season.

Shirley led the team with 14 points, followed by Phillips with 10. Dallas and Kaitlyn Wagoner had two points each and Angel scored one on a free throw.

TRION BOYS 47, GORDON LEE 40

In the nightcap, Maxpreps reported that the Trojans led 26-16 at the half before being outscored 31-14 in the second half. No further details were available. Gordon Lee ended last week 4-5 overall.

Both teams were slated to take part in their own Christmas Tournament on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
