Heritage track teams sweep at home

A win by the Heritage boys’ 4x400 relay team in the last event of the day provided just enough points to lift the Generals to a victory over Ridgeland and LFO on a bitterly cold night last Monday in Boynton.

Heritage’s time of 4:13 gave the Navy-and-Red five final points as they finished with 65 for the night. Ridgeland was second with 64 points and LFO was third with 52.

The 4x400 relay victory was one of seven for the Generals. Jonathan Arehart swept the 1600 (5:41.14) and the 3200 (11:53.05), while Caden Wallin took first place in both the shot put (39-2) and the discus (125-2). The other wins for Heritage were recorded by Will Riddell in the pole vault (90) and Grayson Stallings in the triple jump (38-1.5).

Ridgeland also won seven different events.

Te’Sean Choice took first place in the 100 (10.94). Dayan Delarosa was first in the 400 (1:00.22). TreSean Elliott crossed the line first in the 110 hurdles (19.83). Eron Graham won the high jump (6-0), JaMarcus Lewis took the long jump (17-6.5) and the Panthers also took won both the 4x200 (1:37.47) and the 4x800 (10:32).

Winners for LFO included Joseph Brown in the 200 (23.030, Christian Gass in the 800 (2:35.93), Micah Eyman in the 300 hurdles (53.94) and the 4x100 relay team (47.21).

On the girls’ side, Heritage won the meet with 74 points, followed by

Ridgeland with 48 and LFO with 34.

The Lady Generals bolstered their point total with six individual event wins. Two came from Emily Damron, who swept the 1600 (7:03.88) and the 3200 (15:30). Electra Bowling took first place in the 200 (29.72) and Annabelle Brown was first in the 800 (3:05.11). In the field events, Addi Dills won the long jump (15-7) and Kylie Campbell was first in the triple jump (30-3).

JaMiah Lewis took first place in the 100 (12.13) and the shot put (302) for Ridgeland. Alexis Wheeler was the winner in the discus (95-8) and the Lady Panthers took first place in both the 4x100 (54.48) and the 4x200 (1:59.37).

LFO standout Aubrey Medrano swept both the 100 hurdles (16.29) and the 300 hurdles (53.38). Christina Gass raced to victory in the 400 (1:06.17), while Piper Brown dominated the high jump (5-7).

(107) and Adairsvill­e (102) during a meet at Calhoun last Tuesday. Calhoun (58.50) was fourth, while Coosa (34.50) was fifth.

Logan Roberts took first place in the 100 meters with a time of 11.27 seconds and Cole Runion clocked a 17.15 to win the 110 hurdles. Roberts and Runion teamed up with Christion Hughes and Kishaun Taylor to win the 4x100 in a time of 45.17.

Taylor also swept both the high jump (6-2) and the triple jump (41-7), while Roberts, Runion, Hughes and Laiken Brown took first place in the 4x400 (3:54.17).

As for the Lady Tigers, Carlin Goldsmith had a pair of runnerup finishes in the high jump and the 3200. Sara Collins was third in the 400 and Savannah Stephens was third in the discus, while Ringgold took third in the 4x200 and 4x800. Allie Logan finished fourth in the 100 hurdles, while the Lady Tigers took fourth in the 4x100.

Adairsvill­e won the girls’ meet with 87 points, followed by Southeast (75), Calhoun (66), Coosa (58) and Ringgold (32).
