CHI breaks ground for new hospital
CHI Memorial has broken ground for a $126 million hospital on Battlefield Parkway in Ringgold.
CHI Memorial Health Systems President and CEO Janelle Reilly spoke at the March 22 ceremony: “We’re thrilled, we are thrilled to commence this construction today. This groundbreaking event not only initiates a new era in healthcare, but also symbolizes the growth and advancement of all of North Georgia.”
The target completion date, Reilly said, is December 2025.
When finished, the new hospital, which will be part of the CHI Memorial Parkway complex at 4700 Battlefield Parkway in Ringgold, will have:
64 inpatient beds
Intensive care unit
Full-service emergency department with 24 beds
Five operating rooms
Imaging services
Two endoscopy suites Noninvasive cardiac imaging Laboratory
Catoosa County Commissioner Chuck Harris said at the groundbreaking that there are 142 hospitals in Georgia and the new one coming to Ringgold is one of the three most advanced in the state.
In the meantime, the county assures people, “The current CHI Memorial Hospital Georgia at 100 Gross Crescent Circle in Fort Oglethorpe will continue providing 24/7 emergency care, inpatient care, imaging, and lab services until the new building opens.”
CHI Memorial launched a community fundraising campaign called Care Closer to Home in October 2023 to raise $5 million by June 2024. As of late March 2024, the campaign had raised about $4.3 million.
