Ringgold’s team total included an 89 from Christian Griffith, a 92 by Brayden Roach, a 99 from Scotty Searcy and a 107 by Evan Vineyard. Eli Tipton and Brandon Gregory also played for the Tigers.

Aiden Crawford shot a 99 to lead LFO, while the rest of the Warriors’ team score included a 108 from Sebastian Nelson, a 114 by Nate Carter and a 118 by Payton Simpson. Shane Dodson and Brody

Webster also played for LFO.

The 3-AAA girls’ tournament was also played at LaFayette last Monday. Bremen’s Emma Marshall shot a 79 to take the individual title, but Gordon Lee was the team champion with a very solid score of 262.

That number included an 81 from freshman Haley Talley, who was the individual runner-up. Charlsie McElhaney was third overall with a 90 and Cambelle Williams was fourth with a 91. Hannah Kresser and Zoie Kay also played for the Lady Trojans.

Bremen was second with a 279, while LaFayette grabbed the third and final state berth with a season-low 295. The Lady Ramblers got a 92 from Maggie Green, who finished fifth individually. L.C. Mullaly carded a 99 and Ella Maples finished at 104. Adalyn Brown and Tatum Myers also played

for the Orange-and-Black.

The rest of the team standings included Adairsville (306), Coahulla Creek (343), Ridgeland (407) and LFO (417).

Kaylee Huff led Ridgeland with a 128, while Abigail Knight, Hadley Middlebrooks, Peyton Salisbury and CarrieAnne Hill also played for the Lady Panthers.

Lulu Parkhill set the pace for LFO with a 122, while Lola Harwell, Marley Byrd and Rylee Roden also played for the Lady Warriors.

Lyla Watson and Maddie Cargille played for Ringgold with Watson leading the way with a 114. The Lady Tigers did not have enough players to post a team score.

The GHSA Class 3A state tournaments will be played May 20-21 at LaFayette Golf Course for the first time in history.
