Shawnee downs Lady Tigers

WAYNESFIELD — The Waynesfield- Goshen girls basketball team lost to Shawnee 74- 44 in nonleague play on Tuesday.

Rylie Barrington had 12 points, Kapri Wilson scored 10 and Jordan Elliott had nine for the Lady Tigers.

Shawnee had just a two- point edge in the first period. Elliott had two 3- pointers and three free throws for nine points. Wilson hit a shot and Taylor Spencer made a 3- pointer.

In the second, the Lady Indians put up 25 points to W- G’s 12, taking a 41- 26 lead at the half. Barrington had six points. Taylor Spencer, Peyton Spencer and Chloe Baumgardner each had a a basket as well.

Shawnee scored 23 in the third and held the Lady Tigers to nine. Five of those were by Barrington, with one basket apiece by Zaria Deleon and Baumgardner.

The fourth was lower scoring, with Shawnee having a 10- 9 edge. Wilson hit three shots from the floor and two free throws. Barrington made a foul shot.

( 0- 7) will be off until Jan. 2 when they travel to Vanlue.
