Three Lima men were arrested today on the charge of having attempted to steal five bushels of seed corn from the premises of Eli Ramge, residing five miles north of Wapakoneta near Hume, Friday night between the hours of 8 and 9 o’clock. The men were arrested by Deputy Sheriff Ed. May and Sheriff Baxter of Allen County at their homes near the place where the Western Ohio crosses over the Erie railroad. These men, together with another who may be arrested, were alleged to have been seen near the Ramge granary Friday night by Harry Ramge, 18, son of the owner of the grain. Harry was on his way to attend a party nearby and ran into an auto standing in the roadway near the granary, which is located a quarter mile from the farmhouse. He had a flashlight and by its beams he saw several men break into a run for their auto. Ramge aroused his father and some men who were at the party and an investigation was made. FOR RENT—HOUSE, six rooms, with bath, with or without furnace. Best residential block in Wapakoneta. Inquire Mrs. Mcfarland, 507 West Auglaize Street. With the advent of the real winter weather such as we have been having old Dobbin has been pressed into service to take the place of autos in conveying rural folks to towns on their Saturday shopping visits. It is noticed that the number of horses and rigs hitched to the racks about the City building have increased, many farmers having more faith in their non-freezing qualities than n autos. About 15 blanketed horses and rigs were parked at the north hitching rack of the City Building last Saturday night and about that many more on the south side.
