Wapakoneta Community Scholarship Fund announces awards
The Wapakoneta Community Scholarship Fund (WCSF) awarded $48,500 in scholarships to 35 graduates at the Wapakoneta High School graduation ceremonies on Saturday as well as 10 WHS alumnae currently attending institutions of higher education.
WCSF was formed by local citizens of Wapakoneta in 1972 and has awarded approximately $700,000 to students of the Wapakoneta School District since its inception. WCSF is affiliated with the Wapakoneta Area Community Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) organization eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions from donors.
WCSF continues to raise funds through local community members, organizations, businesses, and our annual golf scramble. WCSF also partners with and administers scholarships funded by the Wapakoneta Lions Club, the Wapakoneta Service Club, the Riverside Arts Center, the Roots and Shoots Garden Club, the Leland E. Stroh Memorial Masonic Scholarships by Hamer Lodge #167 F. & A.M., the Barbara Norton Memorial Scholarships, the Ben Stoll Heartbeat Scholarships, the Pauline and Walter Menges Scholarships, the First on the Moon, Inc. Neil A. Armstrong Memorial Scholarship, and the Deborah A. Kleinhenz Memorial Scholarships.
The 2021 graduating senior student recipients and their awards are as follows:

Mariangelica Cannizzo - Pauline Menges Nursing Scholarship $500 - daughter of Jose and Dorca Lopez Cannizzo will attend Ohio State University majoring in Nursing.
Shannon Carnes - WCSF Scholarship $1000 - daughter of Angie and John Carnes will attend Ohio Northern University majoring in pre-law.
Deanna Claybaugh - WCSF Scholarship $500 - daughter of Nanette and Brian Claybaugh will attend Wright State Lake Campus majoring in Middle Childhood Education.
Trevor Crow - WCSF Scholarship $500 - son of Kimberly and Jon Crow will attend Bowling Green State University majoring in Business/accounting.
Kaylee Dearinger - WCSF Scholarship $500 - daughter of Heather and Douglas Dearinger will attend Rhodes State College majoring in Dental Hygiene.
Madison Doseck- Deborah A. Kleinhenz Scholarship $1000 daughter of Teresa and James Doseck will attend Youngstown State University majoring in Nursing.
Alex Eisert - Wapakoneta Lions Club Scholarship $1000 - son of Amy and Jeff Eisert will attend the University of Northwestern Ohio majoring in Agricultural Equipment Technology.
Laney Folk - Deborah A. Kleinhenz Scholarship $1000 - daughter of Brooke and Chris Folk will attend Ohio State University majoring in pre-medicine.

Alyssa Good - WCSF Scholarship $500 - daughter of Suzanne and Reginald Good will attend Grove City College in Pennsylvania majoring in Elementary Education.
