Thomas R. Peterman Sr., 72

Thomas R. ‘Tom’ Peterman Sr., 72, of Wapakoneta passed away at 3:36 a.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Mercy Health-st. Rita’s, Lima.

He was born on February 28, 1949 in Beaver Dam, WI to Lloyd L. and Lucille M. (Raszkowski) Peterman who preceded him in death. On May 11, 1974 he married Kathy A. Spurlock and she survives in Wapakoneta.

Survivors include four children: Barb (Dave) Bryan, Bill Jeanneret, Thomas (Kelly) Peterman Jr., Betty (Robert Geib) Boyer, all of Wapakoneta;

eight grandchild­ren: Kyle Jurosic, Jesse Smith, Katrina Jeanneret, Zoey Jeanneret, Devin Peterson, Claire Peterman, Kaylee Peterman, Brooklynn Boyer; six greatgrand­children; a brother, Lloyd J. (Carol) Peterman; and a sister, Sally (Don) Smith both of FL.

Tom was a 1968 graduate of St. Joseph High School. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during which time he traveled around the world as a cook on the U.S.S America from 1967-1969.

After being honorably discharged he began his lifelong career

as a truck driver where he drove for Roettger, Dardio and

Stahler Trucking. He also owned and operated his own trucking business Peterman

Sudden Service for 25 years. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8445, Amvets 333, Eagles 691, American Legion 330 and O.O.I.D.A.

When he was not driving for My Shop Enterprise­s you would

find him cooking, golfing, spending time with his grandchild­ren, and most of all rooting for the Green Bay Packers.

A Celebratio­n of Life will from 10 a.m.-noon,

Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Military rites will be performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributi­ons may be directed to the Auglaize County Special Olympics.
