Dennis Kohler, 68

Dennis H. Kohler, 68, of Wapakoneta, died 12:25 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at the Lima Memorial Health System, with his family at his side.

He was born Jan. 15, 1953, in Lima, OH, the son of Harold and Naomi (Hollenbach­er) Kohler, who preceded him in death. On Apr. 26, 1980, he married Barbara A. Miller, and she sur vives.

Other survivors include two children: Jeremy (Shannon) Kohler, Wapakoneta, Jennifer (Jay) Mcmichael, Spencervil­le; five grandchild­ren: Alexis Neeley, Nolyn Kohler, Ryland Kohler, Samantha Mcmichael, Cole Mcmichael; two siblings: Norman (Kim) Kohler, Wapakoneta, Brenda (David) Ward, Jackson Center, OH; brothers-in-law and

sisters-in-law: Ed (Dianna) Miller, Waynesvill­e, OH, Doug (Jayne) Miller, Lima, OH, Mike-dec (Paulette) Miller, St. Marys, Dianne (Bob-dec) Koeper, St. Marys, Kay (Ray) Maher, Seabring, FL; many nieces; nephews; an aunt; and an uncle.

Dennis retired from Wapakoneta Machine Co., after 35 years of service. He was owner of the Dennis Kohler Auction Service for 36 years and a real estate agent with the Binkley Real Estate for

35 years. He was also a substitute bus driver with the Wapakoneta City Schools and did snow removal for a number of years.

He was a 1971 graduate of the Wapakoneta High School, and received an associate degree from Rhodes State in business. Dennis was also a graduate of the Reppert Auction School in 1984.

He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta, the Ohio Auctioneer­s Assn., and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691. He was a member and instrument­al in starting the consignmen­t sale with the F.F.A. Alumni and Adult Young Farmers, which has been in existence for 31 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchild­ren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at the Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, Pastor Dave Mowery officiatin­g.

Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post 8445.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 22, and 9:30-10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.
