Botkins boys 2nd at SCAL meet

ANNA — Fort Loramie edged Botkins 35-46 for the

Shelby County Athletic League boys team championship Saturday.

The Redskins and Trojans both placed five runners among the top 15, but Fort Loramie had four runners among the top 10.

The rest of the field included Anna (86 points), Houston (104), Russia (109)

and Jackson Center (152). Fairlawn did not have a complete team.

Anna’s Hayden Schmidt ran the course in 16:00 to become the medalist.

Western Buckeye League

KENTON — Wapakoneta placed sixth during the Western Buckeye League Championship on Saturday.

Defiance won the WBL team title after scoring 44 points. The rest of the field included Van Wert (56),

Shawnee (62), Ottawaglandorf (108), St. Marys Memorial (140), Wapokoneta (177), Celina (196), Kenton (207), Bath (209) and Elida (273).
