Wapak’s Fosnaugh advances from district meet
FINDLAY — Wapakoneta’s Axton Fosnaugh advanced from the OHSAA
Division I Findlay Northwest District Championships on Saturday at Owens Community College.
Fosnaugh placed 11th in the individual standings after turning in a time of 17 minutes, 7 seconds.
The top four boys teams and male runners who finished among the top 12 individuals advanced to the
Division I Northwest District
Regional Championships on Saturday at Tiffin.
The rest of the Redskins included Cash Schadl (32nd in 18:11), Connor Shroyer (45th in 18:48), Crew Allen (51st in 19:08), Kolvyn Clausing (59th in 20:20), Nathan Doll (62nd in 20:27)
and Gavin Sutton (73rd in 22:30).
Toledo St. Francis ran away with the district team championship by 23-84
margin over runner-up Findlay. The rest of the field
included Ashlabd (93
points), Tiffin Columbian (110), Toledo Whitmer (157),
Fremont Ross (178), Norwalk (197), Wapakoneta (198), Celina (200), Madison Comprehensive (258), Toledo Rogers (310) and Lima
Senior (384), Mansfield Senior and Sandusky did not have complete teams.
Ethan Cope of Toledo St. Francis was the medalist in 15:56, while Kyler Kromer
of Norwalk was the runnerup in 15:58.
In the girls race, Toledo Notre Dame edged Findlay 45-90 for the district team
championship. The rest of the field included Tiffin Columbian (92), Toledo St. Ursula (112), Fremont Ross (116), Toledo Whitmer (129), Ashland (150), Wapakoneta (204) and Madison Comprehensive (219). Lima Senior and Sandusky did not have complete teams.
The top three girls teams and female runners who finished among the top 12
individuals advanced to the Division I Northwest District Regional Championships
on Saturday at Tiffin.
Evelyn Szymanowski of Fremont Ross was the district medalist in 19:26, while Hailey Gomez of Toledo Notre Dame was the runner-up in 19:50.
Lillith Lautzenheiser led Wapakoneta by finishing
27th in 21:22. The rest of the Redskins included Mariel Augsburger (35th in 21:57), Amelia Sammetinger (40th
in 22:19), Lucia Segura (49th in 22:56), Maggie Mcdermitt (54th in 24:44) and Abigail Makuh (63rd in 26:01).
