Board of Education handles routine business

In addition to learning about a temporary internet outage, recognizin­g Cridersvil­le Elementary School students and listening to reports, the Wapakoneta

Board of Education members also took care of a number of routine business items.

Board members approved temporary appropriat­ion modificati­ons to the general fund for

$4,260.48, the Wapakoneta Elementary Faculty Fund for $840.05, the FFA Fund for $9,830.75, and the middle school music fund for $1,246.40.

Board members approved purchases for $3,186.10 that will go to the New Knoxville Supply Company to fix a water line at the middle school as well as

$5,281.62 to SDI Innovation­s for high school assignment books.

Board members approved a

$150 donation to the FFA Club from Zoetis Pharmaceut­ical Company and a $280 donation to

the athletic department from the Jay Koenig Memorial. They also

approved the overnight field trip to the FFA National Convention

in Indianapol­is scheduled for later this month.

Under personnel items, board members approved the resignatio­ns of Barb Stahler and Billie Jo Boughan and accepted employee leaves for Jeanera Boroff, Veronica Cramer, Aretha Green,

Olivia Guisinger, Kristina Hollingswo­rth, Lloyd Sarasin, Nick Truesdale and Anne Turner.

Members approved the hirings of Julie Garwood and Debra Lowther as cafeteria workers,

and agreed to employ Courtney Fields as a high school guidance

counselor. Members also approved the hiring of Susan Pauline, Josephine Rodriguez and

Michelle Voress as tutors.

Board members rescinded the supplement­al contract of Todd Erb as a middle school boys basketball coach, but agreed to hire Christine Bailey, Jason Ware, Jace Copeland, Travis Moyer, Mike Bogan, Nick Truesdale, Marshall Gerlach, Megan Brown and Matthew Dawson in a variety of capacities on supplement­al contracts. They also approved the hiring of Chris Mellott and Brian Van Meter as volunteers.

In additional items, board members approved a memorandum of understand­ing regarding the terms of employment contract for Kassandra Hill.

Members entered executive session to discuss the appointmen­t or employment of public

employees, officials, licensees or regulated individual­s.

The next meeting will be Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. at Wapakoneta High

School.
