Mary L. Davenport, 91

Mary L. Davenport, 91, of rural Wapakoneta, passed away Wednesday morning, November 10, 2021 in the Roselawn Manor in Spencervil­le, with her daughter at her side.

She was born February 8, 1930 at Lima City Hospital. Her parents were Corinne

Blanche (Miller) and Charles Edwin Mitchell, who preceded her in death. She had two

brothers: Kenneth (Mary) Mitchell, and Robert (Imajean) Mitchell who also preceded her in death.

She was born again at the age of 14, when

she accepted Jesus as her Savior.

On September 10, 1950, at the Spencervil­le Methodist

Church, she married Donald Davenport, who died December 31, 2020.

Mary graduated from Spencervil­le High School, Class of 1948, and received her

nursing degree from Lima Memorial School

of Nursing. She worked at Lima Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse and as private duty nurse in Florida.

Mary was a member of Kossuth Zion United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed playing the piano and clarinet.

She played in church orchestras and bands in Lima, Ohio area and in Florida.

She is survived by her four children; 11 grandchild­ren; 13 great-grandchild­ren; and nieces and nephews: Linda (Dave) Hawk of Berea, Ohio and their children;

Deborah (Andrew) Johnson; Sarah (Joel)

Shoop and their children: Jonathan, and Zachary; Lisa (Will) Alderfer and their

children: Hailey, Austin and Deacon; and Adam (Tessa) Hawk. Marilyn (Hugh) Core

of Wapakoneta and their children, Julie (Rod) Stewart and their children, Romana, Victor, Maxwell, and Adria; and Lisa (Elvin) Schroer and their children: Hailey,

and Christophe­r; Richard (Lisa) Davenport of Trenton, TN, and their children: Rachel, and Michael. Roger (Diane) Davenport of St. Marys, and their children; Kevin (Shelby) Davenport,

and their children; Katherine, and Jonathan; Elizabeth, and Matthew.

Private family funeral services will be held Monday in the Kossuth Cemetery with Pastor Allan

Brown officiatin­g. There will be no public visitation.

Memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Kossuth Zion United Methodist Church.
