New summer event planned in downtown Lima
LIMA — Summer is coming soon, and Downtown Lima, Inc. will host the Summer Kickoff event on Friday, June 10, from 4- 8 p.m. in the Hofeller, Hiatt and Clark parking lot in the 200 block of North Main Street.
Food trucks, including Taco Movil, A Taste of Paradise and Rick’s Shack Outback will line
the lot with bar-b-que, sandwiches, tacos, smoothies, slushies and more tastes of summer. There will be a vendor
area, as well asactivities for children provided by Westgate Entertainment Center. Homeless Books will be giving
out free books for summer reading, and other local nonprofit organizations will join
in the summer fun with activities and information. Live entertainment is also planned, so those attending are encourages to bring a lawn chair to enjoy an evening downtown.
“We’re looking forward to hosting a fun evening in
downtown Lima with food, activities, and vendors," said Betsy Billingsley, executive director of Downtown Lima, Inc. “Many of our Downtown Lima, Inc. members will be having
summer specials and stay open a little later for shopping and fun. Plus, Dora-designated Outdoor Refreshment Area-will be available."
