Auglaize County Sheriff William Nieter expressed opinion that the burglary gang that last month committed a series of burglaries at various business establishments and schools throughout the county has started operations again The Sheriff received a report that burglars broke into New Bremen High School, ransacked the office, and fled with loot amounting to $13.
Some of these days Wapakoneta is going to have another theatre. If you’re interested in what it may look like, you can find out by looking at a proposed drawing of it which is on display in the Penney store window. It’ll be a beauty, according to Lyman Strong’s drawing. Emil George will be announcing additional plans for the George Cinema at a later date. The modern theatre will be constructed on the grounds east of the Penney store.
Information has been received here that Calvin Grover, Route 6, Wapakoneta, will be heard on the “Let’s Go Visiting” radio program on Feb.19, over radio station WOWO, Ft. Wayne, at 6:30 am, a guest of Med Maxwell, popular farmer interviewer. Now 60 years of age, Mr. Grover possesses a wealth of practical farm information he has gleaned from experience. He has long been an expert in rotating crops, raising beef cattle, sheep and poultry. Time was-years agowhen he specialized in fine breeds of horses. Today Mr. Grover has a hobby for feeding out steers for the utmost profit….
Mrs. Ruth Cottrell, 56, succumbed to an extended illness on February 11 at her residence, 305 Glynwood avenue. Mrs. Cottrell and her husband Edward owned and operated Lyman’s Central Restaurant in Wapakoneta for nearly 29 years, having bought the establishment in June 1944. They retired from the business January 1 this year.

Frederick Pepple has announced his intention to seek re-election as the judge of the Auglaize County Common Pleas Court. Pepple was first elected to the bench in 1986. He is a graduate of Waynesfield-goshen High School, Bowing Green State University, and Ohio Northern University’s College of Law. He was named a distinguished alumnus of BGSU’S College of Business in 1996 and a distinguished Ohio 4-H alumnus in 1989. He was elected Auglaize County Prosecuting Attorney in 1980 and 1984.
