Library Definitely Offers Movies

- DIANNA PAYNE Assistant Librarian DIANNA PAYNE IS ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN AT LINCOLN PUBLIC LIBRARY

What a strange month we are having here in northwest Arkansas!

The temptures are so varied. We want snow because it’s winter, but then it feels like spring.

You may see your Lincoln Library ladies out walking around the square on warm days.

We recently had a discussion about how many times around the square equals a mile. I am of the mathmatically challenged group, so natually I volunteered to simply get in my car and drive around and around the square until I reached a mile. This made perfect sense to me. However, I was told that “Googling it” would be much faster (I could drive as fast as they wanted had they asked me — I mean as fast as the legal speed limit allows, of course).

So Belinda gets on the computer, and after a little bit of calculating, she found out that five and a half times around the square is a mile. She is good at math, so we are walking on those pretty days and I must say it feels delicious, or maybe the Ibuprophen is delicious.

Anyway we had a patron who came in the other day and asked us did we know if we were to have movies, we would be the only place in town. Nicky and I looked at each other and motioned over to where our DVDS are.

“We have movies,” we said.

Did you know that? If you didn't, let me tell you. We have the latest movies on DVD and we have old favorites on VHS, too. If we don't have what you want, we will try to get it for from another library. All the libraries are hooked up now and work together in Washington County, except for Fayetteville. They are out of the loop.

Come by and check out what we have. Its all free. Even our library cards are free. You can save money, and everything we have can be checked out for two weeks at a time, even our fishing poles. Now isn't that different?
