Cold Days Good For Sorting
Old Cookbooks List Advertisements For Baking Soda, Salad Oil

This last one also included jokes and pages to write your own recipes where Mom had writ- ten some of hers — mince meat, fondant, sweet pickles, etc., and ...

She guessed the water — it dried in the pot.
She guessed the salt and what do you think?
All day long she did nothing but drink.
She guessed the sugar — sauce was too sweet.
And by her guessing, spoiled the meat.
What is her moral? ’ Tis easy to see
