Secret Pal Party Reschedule­d To Jan. 21

- Food Pantry Hours Change Grace Place Hours Announced

Another mild January day greeted churchgoer­s at Central United Methodist Church in Lincoln.

We are all thankful for this nice weather.

Services began “Sweet, Sweet Spirit.”

The Call to Worship was from 1 Samuel 3.

The scripture reading was from 1 Samuel 3:1-20.

The choir sang “Heaven Came Down and Glory Filled My Soul.”

The congregati­on joined in “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling.”

Ms. Lee led Children’s Time with the story of a young Jesus “lost” from Mary and Joseph while in his Father’s house.

This was followed by “Open My Eyes, That I May See.”

The Good News Message, presented by the Rev. Andy Newbill, was “Doing Your Own Thing” from 1 Corinthian­s 6:12-20. Consider that your body is a temple of the Lord bought with a Divine cost.

The Hymn of Invitation was “Victory in Jesus.”

Happy birthday to Valerie Dawson on Jan. 19.

The women’s meeting was held Jan. 17 at the home of Mary Alice Pitts.

The Secret Pal Reveal party has been reschedule­d to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21 in the Fellowship Hall of Central United Methodist Church. Bring a reveal gift and a covered dish or a desert.

Reading for Jan. 22: Jonah 3:1-5,10; Psalm 62:5-12; 1 Corinthian­s 7:29-31; Mark 1:14-20.

The food pantry at New Life Covenant Church will be open at 5 p.m. on Jan. 25.

Anyone needing food should come to the door at the north end of the building on those dates.

G.R.A.C.E. Place is a food and clothing ministry, serving the community by offering material help and spiritual encouragem­ent.

Hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to noon, Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
