- By Pat Harris Enterprise-leader

LINCOLN — Chamber of Commerce members met Feb. 7 to discuss the March banquet and a car show on the square during the summer.

Jennifer Whitney, secretary, Becky Carter, treasurer, David Therneau and Terry Bibbs agreed to be on a committee to put together ideas for the chamber banquet.

Citizen of the Year nominations were discussed and a person nominated, however it was decided emails would go out to members who were not present to see if the nomination was seconded and

agreed upon.

An email also was to be sent to members to ask for suggestions for a guest speaker for the banquet.

Ken Reeves, president, brought up the summer car show. Members agreed Saturday, June 23, would be the best date for the event to be held on the Lincoln Square.

The formal name for the event is Stinkin’ Lincoln Car Show and Rat Rod Run, according to Whitney.

Few members attended the meeting.

Whitney sent an email to members on Friday about a special chamber meet- ing on Feb. 13, at Simmons First Bank. She encouraged members to attend for the purpose of providing suggestions and ideas to ensure a “successful banquet.”

The annual Lincoln Chamber of Commerce Banquet will be held March 16 at the Community Center on the square.
