James Weldon Yancey FARMINGTON

— James Weldon Yancey, 85, of Farmington, died Feb. 9, 2012, at the V.A. Medical Center in Fayettevil­le. He was born December 11, 1926, in Arkadelphi­a, the son of Hallie Scott and Bertha Mageldne Fendly Yancey.

His departure follows a 16-year encounter with A lzhe imer 's , during which his wife of 68 years devotedly cared for him at home. He served in the United States Army during WWII, and worked as a supply clerk for 30 years at the V.A. Medical Center in Fayettevil­le. He was a member of the Farmington Baptist Church. He was a gentleman farmer, enjoying livestock and gardening. He left a great legacy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Tommy and Ronald; four brothers, Bob, Orby, Carroll and R.T.; and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Verna Yancey; one son, Charles Yancey and his wife, Darla of Siloam Springs; two daughters, Billie Jean Harger and her husband, Larry of Havanna, Ark. and Brenda Yancey of Farmington; one brother, Bill Yancey of Lincoln; five sisters, Marilyn Runyard of Arkadelphi­a, Virginia Walker and Elaine Bible both of Farmington, Martha Tucker of Maysville and Linda Henderson of Bentonvill­e; nine grandchild­ren, 10 great-grandchild­ren; and two great-great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral service was held Feb. 13 at Farmington Baptist Church Farmington. Burial was in the Farmington Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s were Chad Yancey, Jay Haynes, Jim Yancey, Jeff Reece, Boone Brogdon and Greg Hicks. Honorary pallbearer­s were Ivan Clayton, Lyle Hayes, Ralph Gurney and Robert Peck.

Darlene Mickey Gilman LINCOLN

— Darlene Mickey Gilman, 63, of Lincoln died Feb. 6, 2012 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le. She was born May 29, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Donald Derwood and Helen Lindsey Dunn.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Kent Gilman and David Verble.

Survivors include one son, Shad Gilman and his wife, Julie of Farmington; one daughter, Dalena Piearcy and her husband, Jesse of Lincoln; and one daughter-in-law, Julie Ramirez of Fayettevil­le; three brothers, Gene Randolph and Kenny Randolph and his wife, Judy of Iowa, Butch Randolph and his wife, Charlotte of California; her sister-mom Prisicilla Vavra of California; 10 grandchild­ren; and an honorary grandson.

Sharon Ann Austin PRAIRIE GROVE

— Sharon Ann Austin, 69, of Prairie Grove, died Feb. 7, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le. She was born Sept. 13, 1942, at Rogers, the daughter of O.C. and Louise Wilks.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Darrel Brown.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, John Austin; two sons, Ken Austin and Brian Austin, both of Prairie Grove; one daughter, Becky Austin, also of Prairie Grove; one sister-in-law, Darlene Copeland Brown of Lincoln; three grandchild­ren; two great-grandchild­ren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Feb. 10 at First Baptist Church in Prairie Grove. Burial was in Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s were Chad Austin, Justin Lee, Taylor Love, Robbie Lewis, Barry Dobbs and Lane Dobbs.

Doile G. Moncrief WINSLOW

— Doile G. Moncrief, 78, of Winslow, died Feb. 10, 2012. He was born Feb. 24, 1933, at Henryetta, Okla., the son of William Arthur and Mary Etta Morgan Moncrief.

He honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and in the United States Air Force during the Japan occupation. He worked many years for Internatio­nal Harvester in Wichita, Kan. as a diesel mechanic, then retired from Campbell Soup after 34 years as a welder.

He was a loving husband, father and grandpa. He was a devoted Christian and Baptist. He loved to be with his family, gardening, fishing, and was an avid bluegrass music fan. He enjoyed watching the deer and wildlife in his front yard, enjoyed working and fixing any and everything. He loved the Lord deeply and enjoyed reading his Bible and talking about and teaching the Lord's word to his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his eldest daughter, Connie Moncrief-preston; and his son-in-law, Mike Willis.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patsy Pierce Moncrief; two daughters, Tammy Willis of Lincoln and Rhonda Moncrief of Winslow; one granddaugh­ter; four grandsons; three great-grandchil- dren; and many friends.

Funeral service was Feb. 14 at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, with Rev. Jasper Hankins officiatin­g. Burial, with military honors, was in Mcdonald Cemetery near Hogeye.

Pallbearer­s were Jeff Mongold, Jake Willis, Justin Willis, Clayton Willis, Rusty Collins and James Gabbard. Honorary pallbearer­s were Mike Gabbard, Juan Hattabaugh, Billy Hattabaugh and Fred Wilcox.

Lucille Lynch GARFIELD

— Lucille Lynch, 88, of Garfield, died Feb. 9, 2012, at Katherine’s Place in Fayettevil­le. She was born Nov. 13, 1923, in Hutchinson, Kan., to Aden Earl and Hazel Dale White Barrett.

Lucille worked for the school system and enjoyed camping, puzzle books, playing bingo and reading.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Lynch; her two daughters, Linda Lynch and Barbara Palone; her mother, Hazel Barrett; her father, Aden Barrett; a sister, Ruby Gilpen; and a great-grandson, John Lackey.

Survivors include one son, Charles Lynch and wife, Glenda, of Prairie Grove; two daughters, Teresa Gregory and husband, Donnie, of Garfield and Sharon Ulrich of Springdale; one brother, Aden Earl Barrett and wife, Marilyn, of Norman, Okla.; 18 grandchild­ren; 41 great-grandchild­ren; and numerous great-great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral services were held Feb. 14 at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale, with the Rev. Bill Williams officiatin­g. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery.

Thomas Aaron Boston FORT SMITH

— Thomas Aaron Boston, 22, of Fort Smith, died Feb. 9, 2012 , i n Fort Smith. He was born March 28, 1989, in Landstuhl, Germany, the son of Alan Aaron and Julie L. Cross Boston.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Jaclyn; his grandmothe­rs, Virginia St. Cyr Boston and Loretta Faye Cross.

Survivors include his father, Alan Boston of Prairie Grove and his mother, Julie Boston of Biloxi, Miss.; one sister, Megan M. Boston of Ocean Springs, Miss.; one niece, Taylor Neal of Ocean Springs; grandfathe­rs, Arnold Boston of North Port, Fla., and Lonnie Cross of Fort Worth, Texas.

Funeral service was held Feb. 14 at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial was in the National Cemetery in Fayettevil­le.

Pallbearer­s were Alan Boston, Carl Cross, Tim Boston, Russell Priske, Bryan Maloney and Megan Boston.

— Bill Ray Cash, 82, of Prairie Grove, died Feb. 10, 2012, in Prairie Grove. He was born Jan. 7, 1930 in Antlers, Okla., the son of Kermit and Dovie Cash.

Survivors include his wife, Wilda Cash; one son, Charles Ray Cash of Antlers, Okla.; one brother, Felton Cash of Texas; one sister, Mert Cash of Antlers, Okla.; eight grandchild­ren; several great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. There will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.

Carole Ann Cooper FARMINGTON

— Carole Ann Cooper, 66, of Farmington, died Feb. 6, 2012, at Fayettevil­le. She was born March 29, 1945, in Huntsville, the daughter of Dale Lloyd and Maxine Faulkner Barron.

Since 1996, Carole battled cancer.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Cooper of Farmington; two uncles, Andrew Barron of Huntsville and Goldman Barron of Hindsville; and an aunt, Juanita Barron of California.

A graveside service was held Feb. 10 at Farmington Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.

Michael Lynne Parker PRAIRIE GROVE

— Michael Lynne Parker, 57, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away Feb. 6, 2012, in Prairie Grove. He was born March 24, 1954, in Roswell, N.M., the son of Buddy Vendel and Dorothy Crenshaw Parker.

Mike graduated from Roswell High School in 1973. He loved to hunt and sh and worked for Walmart.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Parker of Greenwood, Ark.; two sisters, Cathy Sweeney and her husband, Steven, of Greenwood and Beth Epperson and her husband, Scott, of Springdale; one nephew, Monty Bozarth and his wife, Glenda; great-nephew, Cody Bozarth; two nieces, Tara Rappold and her husband, George, and Cerena Sweeney; and two great-nieces, Sandra Rappold and Addison Sweeney.

Funeral service was held Feb. 11 at Luginbuel Chapel. Burial was in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
