Lora Lee Karnes Bell HUNTSVILLE, Ala.

— Lora Lee Karnes Bell, 79, of Huntsville, Ala., died on April 19, 2012. She was born Sept. 27, 1932, in West Fork.

She was an active member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church in Huntsville, Ala., a former member of the Prairie Grove Christian Church in Prairie Grove, a member of the Order of Amaranth, Order of Eastern Star and the Federated Women’s Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Iris Lucretia Davis Karnes; and her brother, Donald Karnes.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James Thomas Bell, Sr.; their children, Sue Lee Bell Charles of Huntsville, Ala., James Thomas Bell, Jr. and wife, Brenda, of New Albany, Ind., William Barnes Bell and wife, Melissa, of Independen­ce, Mo.; eight grandchild­ren; and nine great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral service was held April 23 at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial was in Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Charles Ray ‘Chuck’ Johnson FARMINGTON

— Charles Ray “Chuck” Johnson, 79, of Farmington, went to meet his Lord and Savior on April 19, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center. Chuck was born July 4, 1932, in Siloam Springs, Ark., to George and Cora May Daniels Johnson.

He was a musician, auctioneer and business owner. He owned and operated Johnson’s Store at 519 College Ave. for 53 years. Chuck played drums and sang with his band “Rhythm Makers,” as well as Frankie Kelly Band, Leach Leach and Ken Harvey Band. He also played behind Johnny Lee Wills, Leon McCullough, Buck Owens and Willie Nelson, to name just a few.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Betty Fay Johnson and Letha Jay “Toby” Wright.

Barbara Jean Mahan FAYETTEVIL­LE —

Barbara Jean Mahan, 78, of Fayettevil­le, died Friday, April 20, 2012, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayettevil­le.

She was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Fayettevil­le, the daughter of Roy Lee and Mae Clark Phillips. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Jack Mahan on April 16, 2010; and a sister, Doris Wages.

She worked at Mcilroy Bank as a teller for more than 20 years and was a member of Wiggins Memorial United Methodist Church in Fayettevil­le.

She is survived by two daughters, Lesa Tucker and her husband, Dwight, of Fayettevil­le, and Lori Blew and her husband, Brad, of Farmington; two sons, William Jack Mahan Jr. of New York City and Kirk Mahan and his wife, Judy, of Fayettevil­le; a sister, Louise Phillips of Goshen; two brothers, Deanie Phillips of West Fork and Leslie Phillips of Vallejo, Calif.; five grandchild­ren, Lance Tucker and Christy Cawood, Mitchell Mahan and Taylor and Bo Blew; two great-grandchild­ren, Bailey Ballard and Mckayla Cawood.

Funeral service was held Monday, April 23, at Wiggins Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Gary B. Lunsford officiatin­g.

Burial was in Fayettevil­le National Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.

Wiley Rue Vickery PRAIRIE GROVE —

Wiley Rue Vickery, 71, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away April 24, 2012, in Prairie Grove. He was born March 10, 1941, in Muldrow, Okla., the son of Charles Link and Ollie Bell Phillips Vickery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a baby daughter, Sandra Kay and one sister, Lillian Barnes. grandchild­ren; and nine greatgrand­children.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, Ark., with Jason Madewell officiatin­g.

Arrangemen­ts were under the direction of Nelson-berna Funeral Home and Crematory of Fayettevil­le.

Survivors include one son, Mark Vickery of Prairie Grove; three daughters, Angela Foster and her husband, Rodney of Conway, Steffanie Fancher and her husband, Denton of Kingston, and Amber Barber and her husband, Lonny of Siloam Springs; three brothers, C.L. Vickery and his wife, Katie of Springdale, L.V. Vickery and his wife, Lorene, and Olan Vickery of Prairie Grove; two sisters, Oma Bennett Nolan and her husband, Bill of Bethany, Oklahoma and Norma Brockman and her husband Robert of Prairie Grove.

Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012, 10 a.m. at New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.

Willard Ray Cantrell FARMINGTON —

Willard Ray Cantrell, son of T.J. and Mary (Weinburg) Cantrell, was born on Feb. 24, 1942, in Van Buren, Ark., and departed this life on Saturday, April 21, 2012, in Farmington, Ark., at the age of 70 years, one month and 25 days.

Willard was a very loving husband, father and grandfathe­r. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, T.J. and Mary Cantrell; sister, Colene Newber.

Those remaining to keep his memory are his wife, Donna Cantrell, of the home in Farmington, Ark.; children, Rebecca Guinn and husband, Randall, of Greenland, Ark., Melissa Trentham and husband, Bill, Shannon Lee and husband, Chris, all of Stilwell, Okla., Dustin Cantrell and wife, Heather, of Westville, Okla.; grandchild­ren, Skyla Guinn and Shamari Haney of Fayettevil­le, Ark., Nathan Guinn of Greenland, Ark., Kolby Thurber and husband, Brian, Chandler Trentham, Dalton and Caden Lee of Stilwell, Tyler Choate of Stillwater, Okla., Paisley Cantrell, Brian Byers, Remy

He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services were held April 24, 2012,. at the Summers Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul Young officiatin­g.

Russell Wayne Henderson SUMMERS —

Russell Wayne Henderson, 82, of Summers, Ark., passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayettevil­le, Ark.

Mr. Henderson was born June 24 , 1929, in Summers, Ark.; he was the son of Lester Samuel and Mildred Mable Henderson. He married Geneva Fern Vaughn in Fayettevil­le, Ark., in 1949. Wayne retired from the University of Arkansas, where he was employed as a boiler operator. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Cincinnati, Ark., and a member of the Eastern Star of Lincoln, Ark. He enjoyed hunting, shing and running Beagles.

Survivors include: wife, Geneva Henderson, of the home; son, Paul Henderson of Bixby, Okla.; two daughters, Linda Ross and husband, Richard, of Summers, Ark., Suzanne Smith and husband, Rusty, of Gentry, Ark.; seven grandchild­ren, Renee Myers, Stacy Dilley, Nick Ross, Katie Blackford, Russell Henderson, Bryan Smith, Kaleb Smith; and six greatgrand­children, Lucy Myers, Luke Myers, Mckeehan Dilley, Zoe Dilley, Stricklyn Dilley, Logan Smith.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by many friends and loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at the Backstrom-pyeatte Chapel in Siloam Springs, Ark., on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Jim Beavers will of ciate the service. Burial will be held at Weddington Cemetery under the direction of Backstrom-pyeatte Funeral Home.
