FAYETTEVILLE —A Farmington man faces felony charges after he reportedly raped and punched a woman in front of a child.

According to a preliminary arrest report, Washington County Sheriff ’s Office deputies were called to Stephens’ address after he told deputies a woman punched him in the face and left with a child. Police found the woman later at another home, the report said.

The woman told police Stephens raped her in his truck earlier that day in front of a child. She said she grabbed the child and ran into the house, where Stephens reportedly raped her a second time in front of the child.

The woman said she sent a text message to a friend to pick her up. She packed her bags and told Stephens she was leaving, the report said.

While waiting on her friend to arrive, the woman said Stephens poured a beer on her and punched her on her back while she was holding the child.

Stephens was in the Washington County Detention Center on $ 50,000 bond Friday.
