Bobby Don Daniels

GREENLAND — Bobby Don Daniels, 52, of Greenland, died May 26, 2012, at his home. He was born June 22, 1959, in Perryton, Texas, to Robert and Bobbie Daniels.

Survivors include wife, Mary Daniels of the home; three sons, Terry Oeleis and wife, Dawn, of Greenland, Bobby Daniels of Huntsville, Texas, Jeremy Melvin of Kirbyville, Texas; and ve daughters, Angela Harper and husband, Joshua, of Prairie Grove, Tamra Oeleis and Robert Woody of Fayettevil­le, Amber Stephens and husband, Michael, of Rogers, Roxie Wood and husband, Rusty, of Fayettevil­le, and Jessica Johnson and husband, Wayne, of Greenland; parents, Robert and Bobbie Daniels of Eric, Oklahoma; three brothers, Dan Daniels and wife, Lori, of Boley, Okla., Carl Daniels of Fayettevil­le and Carey Dean Miller of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Leola Hall and husband, Wayne, of Eric, Okla., and Shirley Nixon and husband, Claude, of Little Rock; 15 grandchild­ren; and many other family members and friends.

A graveside service was held Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Dowell Cemetery.

David Mark Fochtman

WEST FORK — David (Taterbug) Mark Fochtman, 60, died May 26, 2012. He was born to June and Earl Woodrow Fochtman.

He is survived by his three children, Sally, Mark and Laura; stepchildr­en. Mike Koon and Julie Crane; and 10 grandchild­ren. David was brother to Earl, Margaret Ann France, Ruth McDougal, Martha Sarah Ellen; and had nu- merous nieces and nephews.

He spent much of his last days being a proud granddad, caring for his horses and working the land he loved. In the months preceding his death, David gave his heart to God.

His family held a memorial service at New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church in Prairie Grove on June 4.

Clinton D. “Shorty” Sargent

STRICKLER — Clinton D. “Shorty” Sargent, 89, of Strickler, went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2012. He was a patient at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayettevil­le. He was born Aug. 24, 1922, in Prairie Grove to Charles Wa s h ing ton and Iva Mulvinia CrawleySar­gent.

He was given the name Shorty by family members because he was the shortest of ve sons. He lived in the Strickler community since childhood where he completed the eighth grade in a one room school house. He then worked on the family farm until being drafted into the Army in 1942. He was trained in anti-aircraft gunnery, eld artillery, carbine ri es and side arms. He trained other of cers for these duties as well. He served in three armies, the 1st Army, 3rd Army and the 9th Army. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge, Siegfried Line, Schwammenn­aeuel Dam, the Cologne Plain, the Remagen Bridge and Ruhr Pocket. After the war ended in Europe, he remained in Germany for almost a year where he guarded the POW’s at Frankfurt. He was awarded three Bronze Stars, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, the European African Middle East Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and two Overseas Bars. He earned the rank of Corporal.

After returning home, he continued farming and growing berries. In 1952, he married Phyllis Leach and together they raised cows and chickens and sold milk. He worked for the Arkansas State Forestry Service for 23 years before retiring in 1980. After retirement he continued tending the cows, gardening, woodworkin­g, rock work, making rose gardens and spending time with his grandchild­ren.

He was a long time member of the Fall Creek Church where he served for many years as a Sunday school teacher, song leader and Deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Iva Sargent; one son, John Sargent, Sr.; two brothers and six sisters, Clyde Sargent, Alma Caviness, Belle Prater, Louise Prater, Clarence Sargent, Lorraine Skelton, Maudileen McKee and Dolly Kidd.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Leach Sargent; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim Sargent and his wife Betty of Strickler, Tom Sargent and his wife Debria of Camden, Ark.; ve grandchild­ren, John Sargent, Jr. and his wife Sarah of Strickler, Jason Sargent and his wife Donna of Owensboro, Kentucky, Cari Burnett and her husband Mark of Shawnee, Okla., Libby Wagner and her husband Wyatt of Tulsa, Okla. and Russall Sargent of Camden; nine great-grandchild­ren; two brothers, Claude Sargent and Chester Sargent both of Prairie Grove; and one sister, Bonnie Anderson of Jacksonvil­le; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held June 4 at Fall Creek Church in Strickler with Bro. Danny Beard of ciating. Burial was in the Fall Creek Cemetery.

Tina Cloughly

FARMINGTON — Tina Cloughly, 45, of Farmington, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at her home.

She was born Aug. 14, 1966, in Ardmore, Okla., the daughter of Bobby Jack and LaNita Thompson Cloughly.

She was a Baptist and was a former employee of Campbell Soup Co. where she was accounts payable supervisor.

She is survived by her mother, LaNita Cloughly of Farmington; two sisters, Linda Burnett and her husband, Larry, of Fayettevil­le and Sue Morse of Farmington; two brothers, Jim Cloughly and his wife, Cathy, of Charlotte, N.C., and Bobby Cloughly II and his wife, Dana, of Springdale; and beloved nieces, nephews and great-nephews.

A funeral service was held Saturday, June 2, at Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church near Hindsville, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel. Burial was in Burkshed Cemetery near Hindsville.
