Forty-five Attend Beaty Decoration
For 65 years the Myers family and descendants have been meeting for decoration at the Beaty cemetery. Fortyfive attended Sunday in the home of Johnny and Anna Cheatham for the regular potluck dinner, visiting and later, the decoration.
Included was guest Deidra Verneau, also three firsttime little ones: 4-monthold Sophia Rameriz from Checotah, Okla., 2-year-old Liam Lyons from Siloam Springs and 10-month-old Mason Roy from Springdale. It was a beautiful day for the gathering and making more memories.
School is out and looking back we have much to be thankful for and much to look forward to.
This great- grandma is proud when she hears of those who were on the honor roll and received recognition in art and high ACT scores.
In another school, one received three awards, one for leadership, one honor students ( straight As) and student of the month. His younger brother also was chosen student of the month.
In yet another, I was again privileged to attend the annual talent show there when one played the guitar. His brother won an award in every class and was chosen as student of the year — both honor students.
I, as others, do brag about them as long as I can for they soon outgrow this attention which has happened since I penned the following for my “grands” —
Don’t be surprised when we happen to meet
If I say, “I just happen to have,”
And show you grandchildren’s pictures — No, do not at me laugh Some day, you too might be prone to brag
Of little ones own,
As you wonder, comparing each picture,
Where all the years have flown.
So be patient with me for now
As I show off my “grands” to you;
Didn’t you know that’s the very thing
G ra n d p a r e n ts supposed to do?
