Senior Center Breakfast Raises More Than $1,000

My, how these weeks and months fly by.

And now this year 2012 is half over. Pretty soon we will be seeing Halloween and Christmas items out on display so we can get our shopping done early.

The ones in charge don’t know that this early bit doesn’t help me one iota. I have to think about what to give for awhile — do you?

Last Tuesday was a special day for the ladies of the Viney Grove Homemaker’s Club. We were the guests of the Winslow EHC on that day. A delicious lunch of fried chicken and all the trimmings was served. The door prize was a basket of goodies and was won by Joy Sotorske.

Afterwards, we all went over to their museum to look at all the pictures and momentos about Winslow. It was very interesting and informative. It definitely was a good day for us.

Last Friday was a very special day in the West and Bartholomew families for it was birthday two for young Brody Bartholomew, the son of Natalie and Cole Bartholomew. We send our birthday greetings and best wishes to this young man for many, many happy days and years ahead.

Were you one of the 122 people who enjoyed breakfast at the Senior Center on June 23? If you were, you know how good the food was. If you weren’t, you just don’t know how much you missed. And the money raised — more than $1,000 — will all be used for the Meals on Wheels program. Thanks for everyone’s help!

Betty Wood is delighted to be through with physical therapy for her back problems. She and Corbin attended Heritage Day in Siloam Springs and watched granddaughter Brianna and her gymnastics group perform.

On Ag Day the Prairie Grove Chamber of Commerce enjoyed lunch out at Randy and Cheryl West’s farm. This is such a beautiful and relaxing place to gather, and everyone has such a good time.
