Lincoln Senior Center Takes Trips To Farmers Market

- SHIRLEY METZGER Center Reporter SHIRLEY METZGER IS THE LINCOLN SENIOR CENTER REPORTER.

Thursday, July 12, we go to the farmers market at Fayetteville. Be here at 9 a.m. to get on the van, but be sure to call to make sure to get your name on the list. We go again on July 26. Monday, July 16, Jackie will be here to do nails. Again, be sure to call to get your name on that list. Tuesday, July 17, we will welcome a speaker on Medicare Fraud at 10 a.m.

Be sure to remember all the other neat things going on here such as cards, Bible study, bingo, gospel singing, free blood pressures, dances and just good old socialization. Plus, the delicious lunches are just a $3 donation for folk over 60.

Remember, I am still doing the recycling program as a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels. I take all old cell phones, inkjet cartridges and laser cartridges. So when you replace the ink cartridges out of your computers, don’t throw them away. Save them and bring them to the center or call Sally and tell her you have some, and I will pick them up.

Yes it takes quite a few of those little cartridges, but some are worth the money and I just save them up and send them all together. Please, I cannot use the toner cartridges.

This is not a money maker for individuals as it takes too many, but businesses can do it, or nonprofit organizations can do it if someone is willing to collect them and package them and send them in. I am willing to do so, and I appreciate any of them.

We are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There’s always someone to visit with or you can work jigsaw puzzles or play cards. Meanwhile keep smiling, keep healthy and God bless.
