LINCOLN DEFEATS STILWELL 40-26

LINCOLN — The Lincoln junior high football team won 40-26 against Stilwell, Okla., on Thursday.

“I thought our guys played really good,” said Lincoln coach Brad Harris. “We actually trailed 6-0 early in the first before we starting clicking offensivel­y.”

Lincoln’s touchdowns came in a variety of ways. Harrison Swayne passed to Noah Swayne for a 12-yard touchdown pass on a screen play. Noah Swayne scored on a 15-yard touchdown run, with Ryan Frazier scoring on the 2-point conversion. Harrison Swayne passed to Noah Swayne, this time on a 40-yard touchdown pass on a deep ball.

Harrison Swayne threw to Roni Castaneda for a 20yard touchdown on a pass play, with Harrison Swayne adding the 2-point conversion. Harrison Swayne found Frazier on a 60 yard screen play which scored. Brayden Harris added 5-yard touchdown run.

Harris lauded the performanc­e of brothers, Harrison and Noah Swayne, who him credited as both having big nights. Noah had 3 touchdowns, 2 receiving and one rushing, while Harrison had 4 touchdown passes with Harris saying he threw for at least 150 yards on the night.

Harris said Frazier had a good night running and receiving.

“He had the one long touchdown reception on the screen play and also rushed for about 80 yards,” Harris said. “We were leading 34-12

a in the third quarter and starting putting all of our subs in the game for the remainder of the game.”

Harris noted his son, Brayden, an eighth grader, rushed for about 40 yards during the second half.

“This week we travel to Dover, they are 2-0 on the year,” Harris said. “It should be a good game, they like to run the football right at you, so we are going to have to stop the run this week in order to win.”

Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m. for the seventh-grade game at Dover on Thursday with the junior high game to follow.
