Gerald F. Griscom

SUMMERS — Gerald F. Griscom, 79, a resident of Summers, Ark., passed away Dec. 4, 2012, in Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born June 20, 1933, in Summers, the son of Leonard and Berlene Dodson Griscom.

Gerald was 32nd-degree Mason and a member of the Cincinnati Masonic Lodge. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a past board member of the Bank of Fayettevil­le. He was the membership chairman for the Ozark Cattlemen’s Associatio­n. He worked for Lewis Ford in the body shop for many years. He enjoyed his family, farming, rodeos and the Razorbacks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James and Don Griscom.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Irena Wilson Griscom of the home; one son, Dale Griscom and wife, Star, of Summers, Ark.; one daughter, Shirley Baker of Pea Ridge, Ark.; two grandsons, James Baker and wife, Sarah, and Scott Baker and wife, Desiree; one greatgrand­daughter, Henley Baker; two stepgrandc­hildren, Ken Fenson and Niki Lysakowski; six stepgreat-grandchild­ren.

The family received friends Friday, Dec. 7, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial was in the Old Union Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ark.

Memorials may be made to the Cincinnati Arkansas Fire Department or Old Union Cemetery, in care of Sharon Barnes, 12746 Cincinnati Road, Summers, AR 72769.

Davey “David” Lee Schmitt

Davey “David” Lee Schmitt, 81, a resident of Tahlequah, Okla., passed away Nov. 30, 2012, in Tahlequah. He was born Nov. 6, 1931, at Tulsa, Okla., the son of Lawrence H. and Jewell Hickman Schmitt.

David was an artist and hair dresser in Beverly Hills, Calif. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He traveled extensivel­y and loved to dance. He choreograp­hed many plays and musicals.

Survivors include one brother, Joseph Carl Schmitt of Titusville, Fla.; two sisters, Susie Yell of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Katherine Lee Woods Elam of Alaska; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at the Luginbuel Chapel. Burial was in the National Cemetery in Fayettevil­le, Ark.

Darlene (Dodd) Krugler

Darlene (Dodd) Krugler, 50, of Prairie Grove passed away Nov. 30, 2012. She was born Feb. 12, 1962, in Martinez, Calif., the daughter of Grace Dodd and father Sam Dodd (deceased) of Prairie Grove.

Darlene was a loving mother blessed with two sons, Scotty Grubbs, 34, and Cody Grubbs, 30, of Fayettevil­le; brother Sam Dodd Jr., wife Cara of Prairie Grove and sister Julie Dodd of Prairie Grove; Uncle and Aunt David and Dena Dodd; grandmothe­r Leona DeVore of Prairie Grove.

James Ray Mulvaney

LINCOLN — James Ray Mulvaney, 70, a resident of Lincoln went to be with his Lord on Dec. 5, 2012, in Fayettevil­le. He was born Nov. 23, 1942, in Prairie Grove, the son of James H. and Hazel Shackelfor­d Mulvaney.

Survivors include his wife, Lou Mulvaney; his son, James Ray Mulvaney Jr. and wife, Michelle of West Fork, and their children, Heather McCarver, Ciara Mulvaney, Chase Mulvaney, Ridge Mulvaney, Colbi Vanzant and Levi Vanzant; his son, Thomas Lloyd Mulvaney and wife, Emily of Lincoln and their children, Luke Coursey, Katie Sullivan and Brent Mulvaney; one daughter, Shawna Cunningham and husband, Daniel of Summers, and their children, Ashton Cunningham, Kalie Cunningham and Devon Cunningham; and three great-grandchild­ren, Bella, Kylie and Jaidon.

Funeral Service was held Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Summers Missionary Baptist Church with burial in White Rock Cemetery.

Barbara J. Foster

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Barbara J. Foster, 67, a resident of Fayettevil­le, passed away Dec. 6, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Faye t tev i l le . She was born Sept. 18, 1945, in Prairie Grove, the daughter of Ben F. and Abbie Luttrell Hulet.

Barbara was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Lincoln and a nurse for 45 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmothe­r. She loved animals and never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Shan Foster.

Survivors include one son, Shan “Jr” Foster and his ancee, Emy Bunnell, of Rhea’s Mill; one daughter, Mandy Foster of Prairie Grove and her ance, Jeff Roberts; one granddaugh­ter, Taylor Foster; one stepsister, Patti Rice of Las Vegas; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Luginbuel Chapel with burial in Wedington Cemetery.

Fredrick ‘Fred’ Nathaniel Kamps

PRAIRIE GROVE — Fredrick “Fred” Nathaniel Kamps, 80, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away Dec. 8, 2012, at Prairie Grove Health and Rehabilita­tion. He was born May 2, 1932, in Caney, Kan., the son of Herman Henry and Ruth Adaline Sanders Kamps.

Fred worked in the wholesale food industry for Lucky Stores for many years until his retirement when he and his wife moved to Prairie Grove. In Prairie Grove he drove a school bus for the Prairie Grove School District and was assistant dog catcher for Prairie Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister.

Fred was an avid bowler and enjoyed shing from his pontoon boat. In his younger years, he enjoyed duck hunting and squirrel hunting.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lena Kamps; one son, Stephen Fred Kamps of Prairie Grove.

Amy Michelle Swinford

Amy Michelle Swinford, 35, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away Dec. 5, 2012, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le. She was born Oct. 12, 1977, in Spring eld, Mo., the daughter of Gary and Carol Osburn Crews.
