Washington County Enterprise-Leader

Newspaper Delivery Changing In March

- STAFF REPORT

Beginning with the March 6 issue of the Washington County Enterprise- Leader, subscribers will receive their newspaper in the mail.

The mail service will replace morning carrier delivery.

“Our subscribers in Washington County will receive their newspaper on Wednesday, the same day they do now,” explained publisher Kent Marts. “The difference is that it will no longer be there first thing in the morning.” The change means that rather than being on the driveway, the paper will be located where the mail is delivered, Marts said.

This change will not affect subscription prices.

“I know that any change like this that we make affects our very loyal — and very valued — subscribers,” Marts said. “We are taking this

action in an effort to control costs and ensure that the subscribers get the best service possible.”

Marts noted that the paper’s owners, Northwest Arkansas Newspapers LLC, late last year showed commitment to the Enterprise-Leader, by adding a full time reporter’s position.

“The staff at the news- paper — managing editor Pat Harris, reporter Lynn Kutter, and sports editor Mark Humphrey — work hard each day to produce a newspaper packed with local information not available anywhere else.”

The staff also uses Facebook and the website http:// wcel.nwaonline.com to interact with readers and keep them updated on breaking news.
